Move over, MrBeast—there’s a new group of creators taking over the internet, but they might be ending up on the FBI’s Most Wanted list instead of the “Trending” tab.
Amazon MGM Studios just gave fans a wild first look at the action-comedy How to Rob a Bank during their high-energy CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas. The footage, which has already sparked a frenzy on X (formerly Twitter), introduces a pack of criminals who are doing the unthinkable: filming and posting their massive heists directly to YouTube.
In a world where clout is king, these thieves are winning. The group has already hit banks and amassed a staggering million subscribers who tune in to watch their high-stakes “content.”
Leading the pack is a suave Nicholas Hoult, who serves as the group’s mastermind. In a moment that is already going viral, the Great actor is seen donning an elaborate wolf mask, giving a whole new meaning to “committing to the bit.”
Hoult isn’t alone in his quest for viral infamy. The crew features a “who’s who” of Hollywood favorites, including Shōgun breakout star Anna Sawai, Rhenzy Feliz, and the king of BDE himself, Pete Davidson.
The group’s philosophy? Style over stealth. “Make your outfits memorable, just have fun with it,” the crew declares in the footage while sporting various animal masks.
But don’t call them villains. Pete Davidson’s character is quick to explain that they have a heart of gold—mostly. The crew reportedly pays their stolen loot forward to good causes, though Pete couldn’t help but crack a signature joke during the clip.
“It has to be a real one,” Davidson quips about their charitable donations. “OnlyFans is not a charity.”
Director David Leitch, the action genius behind Bullet Train and The Fall Guy, took the stage in Vegas alongside Davidson to explain the “Robin Hood” vibes of the film. He described the characters as “regular people like you and me” who are simply fed up with greed and corruption.
“Modern-day Robin Hoods, taking from the rich and giving to the poor,” Leitch told the crowd, emphasizing the film’s provocative slogan: “Who is robbing who?”
The internet is already obsessed with the concept. “Pete Davidson playing a YouTuber who robs banks to give back to the poor? This is the role he was born for,” one fan joked on TikTok. Others are praising the stacked supporting cast, which includes Zoë Kravitz, John C. Reilly, and Christian Slater.
Behind the scenes, Leitch is producing alongside his wife and partner, Kelly McCormick, via their North banner. The script was penned by Mark Bianculli, known for his work on the gritty Amazon series Hunters.
With its blend of social media satire and high-octane heist sequences, How to Rob a Bank is already positioned to be the fall’s biggest breakout.
Mark your calendars and get your masks ready—How to Rob a Bank hits theaters on Sept. . Just maybe don’t try this at home for the likes.
