The Fockers are officially back, and this time, they’ve brought a global superstar along for the ride. During a star-studded presentation at CinemaCon, Universal Pictures debuted the first trailer for Focker In-Law, the highly anticipated fourth installment of the beloved Meet the Parents franchise.

While the return of legends Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro had the crowd cheering, it was newcomer Ariana Grande who truly stole the show—and she’s already facing the heat from the world’s most intimidating father-in-law.

In a nostalgic nod to the original film, the trailer kicks off with Robert De Niro’s Jack Byrnes dusting off his infamous lie detector kit. His target? Ariana Grande.

The “eternal sunshine” singer plays the love interest of Greg (Stiller) and Pam’s (Teri Polo) son, played by Skyler Gisondo. As she sits hooked up to the machine, the tension is palpable—and hilarious.

“Do you think I hold Henry emotionally hostage?” Greg asks his son’s new flame during the interrogation. Grande’s character doesn’t skip a beat, proving she can hold her own against the Byrnes-Focker neuroticism. “People underestimate me,” she quips in the footage. “But actually, I was an FBI hostage negotiator.”

Fans on X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok are already losing it over the pairing, with one fan writing, “Ariana Grande being interrogated by Robert De Niro is the cinematic crossover I didn’t know I needed.”

On stage at CinemaCon, Stiller and De Niro kept the comedy going. Stiller joked about the long gap since ’s Little Fockers, calling it a “fully intentional -year-break.”

Stiller, now , pointed out that he’s reached a hilarious milestone: he is now roughly the same age De Niro was when the first movie premiered. “I guess you could say I’m the new De Niro of the franchise,” Stiller joked.

De Niro, , wasn’t having it. “Don’t say that. It’s very disrespectful,” he shot back with his signature dry wit. “You made a very unflattering comparison that forced me to defend my honor.”

The duo also shared some love for their new co-star. De Niro even teased Stiller about Grande’s impressive resume. “She got an Oscar nomination,” De Niro reminded him. “How many of those do you have?” (Before adding with a wink, “I didn’t write this.”)

The trailer promises plenty of the physical comedy that made the first three films global box office hits. In one standout moment, the entire family is seen wearing matching pink shirts for a group bike ride—only for Grande’s character to take a “nasty spill” that surely wouldn’t be “Positions” approved.

Director John Hamburg, who co-wrote the original film, is taking the reins for this outing. He had previously been “cagey” about a potential sequel, but it seems the timing was finally right to bring the family back together.

Returning cast members include Blythe Danner, Teri Polo, and Owen Wilson, while Beanie Feldstein joins Grande as a franchise newcomer.

With the original Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers earning nearly $ million combined, expectations are sky-high for this November release. If the chemistry between the ” rings” singer and the “Byrnes” patriarch is any indication, we’re all going to want to be in this circle.

Focker In-Law hits theaters on Nov. .
