Khloé Kardashian is officially hanging up her “supportive ex” hat.
The Kardashians star, , is speaking out after the release of the buzzy Netflix documentary, The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, and she has a lot to get off her chest. During a candid episode of her podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, the reality icon revealed she feels “played” for participating in the project as a favor to her former husband.
The documentary, which dropped last month, revisits the terrifying incident where the former NBA star was found unresponsive at a Nevada brothel. While Khloé sat down for emotional interviews to help tell his story, she says the aftermath has been anything but positive.
“Do people think I just like talking about this all day? F— no, it’s traumatic,” Khloé told her listeners. “I have to relive things. I have to talk about things that weren’t fun in my life. So, it’s like, no, I don’t just feel like doing this.”
Khloé explained that she spent “months” contemplating whether to join the film, eventually agreeing because she wanted to ensure it was a “positive piece” for Lamar. She even revealed that she wasn’t paid “one penny” for her appearance.
“I have no dog in this fight,” she stated. “I willingly do the Netflix thing for Lamar… and it’s not something I really want to talk about anymore.”
However, the “positive” vibes shifted quickly once the documentary hit the streaming giant. During his press tour, Lamar, , has made several claims that Khloé says “insinuate she’s a liar.” In a recent Today show interview, Lamar credited God—rather than Khloé—for saving his life and disputed her claim that his own father wanted to take him off life support during the crisis.
“I’m like, I’m never going to do another Lamar thing again, ’cause I’m all good,” Khloé vented. “But now Lamar is doing press [and saying he’s] annoyed with me. For years he was singing my praises… but you’re not now going to s— on me or now play in my face because you don’t like the reaction and the response from the public.”
Perhaps the most stinging part of the documentary for fans—and Khloé—was Lamar’s claim that he married her for fame. The pair famously tied the knot in after just one month of dating.
“Behind the scenes, you, your friends, you guys are all saying how you were with me just for fame? That’s like some f—ed up s—,” she said. “I feel so dumb.”
Khloé didn’t stop there, bringing up a bizarre incident from the past to highlight why she’s done with the drama. “Listen, I let go of the sex doll he got made of me two years ago, which I thought was like the most sociopathic thing. How violating. How gross.”
As for Lamar’s claims that he hasn’t even seen the full documentary yet? Khloé isn’t buying it for a second.
“This person loves to watch himself,” she laughed. “You’re telling me that you have a documentary for yourself and you’re trying to say publicly that you never saw it? Boy, please.”
Khloé believes the sudden change in Lamar’s tune is a reaction to the public’s response to the film, which has been overwhelmingly supportive of her but critical of him. She noted that what fans saw in the doc was only ” percent” of the things she could actually talk about regarding their tumultuous history.
For now, the mother of two is focusing on her own peace and leaving the “traumatic” past where it belongs—behind her.
The Death & Life of Lamar Odom is currently streaming on Netflix.
