Rosie O’Donnell’s adopted daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell, has clashed with the law again, this time being sentenced to jail. Per reports, following an alleged violation of the terms of her probation, she has been sentenced to prison. She was sentenced to six years of probation earlier this year after arrests for numerous drug-related charges (via Newsweek).
As reported by US Weekly, a court official reportedly revealed that Chelsea was in violation due to s*xu*l ass*ult allegations. Plus, on October 27, a Marinette County officer revealed to the outlet that Chelsea will be transferred to the Taycheedah Correctional Institution, a medium-security prison in Wisconsin. She will either serve her sentence at the facility or will be moved to another prison. However, the official couldn’t confirm her sentence term.
Adding to this, she was also accused of failing to take her rehabilitation program seriously. Court officials reportedly stressed that Rosie O’Donnell‘s daughter had not shown significant improvement or progress in the same, thus leading to her termination from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program as well.
When she was ordered probation by the Marinette County Circuit Court Judge James Morrison, the judge imposed and stayed a sentence of one year in prison and one year on extended supervision for Chelsea, as shown in the court records. Now that her probation has been revoked, this will reportedly go into effect, per the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
Earlier this year, the 28-year-old pleaded guilty in Marinette County to multiple charges, including resisting or obstructing an officer, possessing methamphetamine, bail jumping, maintaining a drug trafficking place as a party to a crime, and also possessing an illegally obtained prescription, on January 30, according to the outlet.
These stemmed from two separate cases from earlier in September and November 2024, which had Rosie’s daughter sentenced to probation in both. On October 22, though, Chelsea was revoked from probation and sentenced to prison in the case involving methamphetamine possession, resisting an officer, and bail jumping, per the court records.
Chelsea O’Donnell’s Jail Accommodations Have Been Pretty Cozy and Safe, So Far

While her prison sentence following the revocation of her probation spells trouble, Chelsea O’Donnell’s current accommodations at a Wisconsin jail have reportedly been easy to handle.
Per TMZ, Marinette County Assistant Jail Administrator Jake Roberts claimed Rosie O’Donnell’s adopted daughter had been spending time with the general population in the jail. Here, she and the other inmates have dayroom time, which is basically time in a shared common area outside of cells where they eat foods like chicken patties, tacos, pizza, and rice, from 6 AM to 10 PM.
Additionally, the inmates also have access to games and can buy Phase 1, Uno, chess, and checkers. They can also use cable TV to watch channels like ESPN, FX, or even the Hallmark Channel, phones on the wall, a kiosk to send out messages, and video visits. She can see visitors as well. She also probably has a roommate.
Meanwhile, Rosie O’Donnell Is Asking for Prayers for Her Adopted Daughter

As times continue to seem tough for her adopted daughter, Rosie O’Donnell is now asking for prayers for Chelsea O’Donnell. For those who might not know, she adopted Chelsea back in 1997 with her then-partner, Kelli Carpenter.
Taking to her Instagram handle, the Daytime Emmy winner posted a throwback picture of her troubled daughter as a child, from the 2006 annual Salute to Women in Sports Awards Dinner. In the image, the young Chelsea is decked in a pink sweater over a pink, striped turtleneck.

Noting in the caption just how happy her adopted daughter was before her life was plagued by drug addictions, the comedian captioned the post as,
my child chelsea belle – before addiction took over her life – i loved her then i love her now as she faces a scary future- prayers welcomed- #addiction awareness #love #family
Besides this, in a statement with PEOPLE, she also stated,
I have compassion for those struggling with addiction — Chelsea was born into addiction, and it has been a painful journey for her and her four young children. We continue to love and support her through these horrible times. Prayers welcomed.
As of this writing, it remains to be seen when exactly Chelsea O’Donnell will be released from prison in the wake of her latest sentencing. Still, we hope she doesn’t have to spend too much time in jail and is awarded another chance to mend her ways and step away from her legal troubles for good. Don’t you agree?
