Why Does Millie Bobby Brown Live In a Farm After $14 Million Net Worth and Stranger Things Fame?

By Steven Jones 11/06/2025

Millie Bobby Brown isn’t chasing the flashing lights of Hollywood. Instead, she’s found solace in the rolling fields of Georgia, building a life that’s equal parts quiet and purposeful. The 21-year-old star, who skyrocketed to fame as Eleven in Stranger Things, calls the Peach State her permanent home alongside husband Jake Bongiovi, 23, following their wedding in May 2024.

In British Vogue’s December cover story, Brown reflects:

I grew up here, you know? This is the longest place I’ve been consecutively in my life because of Stranger Things. For me, this is my home.

Born in Spain and raised in England, Brown credits her parents for shielding her from Hollywood’s harsh spotlight: “They didn’t want me to grow up in that world,” she says. While acting is a passion, Brown insists it doesn’t define her. “You have a sense of purpose within your own personal life,” she adds. Today, she has built a grounded life in Georgia, surrounded by an “unstarry” circle of friends.

The actress and her husband share a sprawling farm populated with 40 animals, including rescue dogs, cats, and even a 200-pound sheep that once demolished her curtains. Adding another chapter to their story, the couple welcomed a baby girl via adoption this past August. An insider told PEOPLE:

There’s no doubt that she’s a great mom… They have really worked on creating this special family life in Georgia.

Millie Bobby Brown’s life in Georgia, filled with animals, a loving husband, and a growing family, clearly reflects her desire for purpose beyond fame.

Millie Bobby Brown Net Worth: How Stranger Things Star & Husband Spend Money Differently

Despite her rural retreat, Millie Bobby Brown’s financial portfolio is anything but modest. The Enola Holmes star boasts a net worth of $18 million, accrued through acting, modeling, and entrepreneurship.

Her early career began with guest roles on shows like Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and Intruders, but fame truly struck when she became Eleven in Stranger Things at age 11. Her performance earned multiple Emmy nominations, ensemble awards, and a Saturn Award.

Millie Bobby Brown Net Worth and Financial Snapshot:

On the financial front, Brown’s salary skyrocketed alongside the show’s success, from a reported $10,000 per episode in season one to a commanding $300,000 per episode in season three. Her film work, notably Enola Holmes ($6.1 million plus producer’s fees) and its sequel ($10 million flat), further cemented her wealth. Beyond acting, she launched Florence by Mills, a beauty and skincare brand promoting self-expression and clean beauty.

Yet, fame hasn’t softened her frugality. On Call Her Daddy podcast, Brown revealed:

I really like to be transparent: I grew up with no money. Did not grow up with any money — we never owned a house… I’m just very conscious about money.

While Jake Bongiovi is the “more likely to splurge” partner, Brown appreciates the independence her success affords, recalling the pride of buying her parents their first home.

I’ll be like: ‘Oh, I need socks,’ and he’ll be like: ‘Let’s go to Prada!’ And I’m like: ‘Let’s go to Target, like, what?!’ He’s just that kind of guy. He loves to go shopping; he will refuse to pack a suitcase because he likes to go shopping in the place we are going, whereas I’m like: Amazon basics. I love that.

Even when I do spend money on something, I have to call my parents. I have to think about it; I go back. I don’t just buy it right away.

Millie Bobby Brown proves that success doesn’t have to mean sacrificing simplicity.

What to Expect from Stranger Things Season 5: Duffer Brothers Reveal Inside Details

Stranger Things co-creator Ross Duffer defended Netflix’s three-part release schedule for the final season, which has faced criticism. The first four episodes drop the day before Thanksgiving, the next three on Christmas Day, and the series finale on New Year’s Eve. Ross told SFX Magazine via GamesRadar that he was unaware of season 4’s split release, blaming it on the pandemic, not Netflix, while confirming that season 5’s multi-part schedule was planned well in advance.

This allowed Matt and Ross Duffer to design the story around the schedule. Ross explained:

Volume One really exists as its own mega-movie. Episode four was the most challenging episode we’ve ever made, and that includes the finale—though on an emotional level, the finale was the hardest. I don’t know how many days I found myself crying, and I’m not someone who cries very often outside of watching Pixar movies.

The new release strategy also includes a unique streaming window: all episodes, including the finale, will be available at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. While some fans express frustration over the multi-part release, the Duffers’ awareness of the schedule allowed them to craft a finale with a clear mid-season climax. Stranger Things Season 5 premieres Wednesday, November 26, at 8 p.m. ET on Netflix, with the finale receiving a simultaneous theatrical release.
