Christopher Wallace, who went by the name Biggie or the Notorious B.I.G., was killed in a drive-by shooting back in 1997, and Diddy’s name has come up multiple times in the case since then.
Prior to the controversies, Wallace seemed to have a bond with Diddy, the man who helped launch his career. In fact, in a resurfaced video, Wallace couldn’t stop himself from praising the mogul.
However, a part of that interview has caught the attention of netizens, who are pointing out how Diddy physically stopped Wallace from saying “Jesus” in the middle of his statement. Check out this video on X:

Sure, out of context, it looks suspicious. But the question is, what was the reason behind Diddy’s actions? Well, one look at the complete interview will give you all the answers you need:
In the video, Wallace was talking about how Diddy helped him turn his life around. He went on to say, “He Jesus to me, cause’ he saved me“. That’s when the Closer to God rapper shakes his head and disagrees with Wallace, stopping him from comparing him to Jesus.
He quickly changed the subject to something else.
Diddy’s Relationship With Biggie: Was the Mogul Involved in His Death?

Biggie’s relationship with Diddy, aka Sean Combs, was both professional and personal; some may even say they had a brotherhood between them. The rap mogul first discovered Wallace in 1992 while working for Uptown Records (via The Root).
As their professional and personal relationship grew, Combs allegedly started getting envious of Wallace’s friendship with the late Tupac Shakur. As per Rolling Stone, Combs’ former Bad Boy partner and president Kirk Burrowes said,
There was someone on the sidelines, jealous.
All of this was happening while Shakur was signed to the rival Death Row Records. Hip-hop photographer Monique Bunn told Rolling Stone that things further soured between Wallace and Combs after Shakur was shot at five times at a NYC recording studio.
Before his death, things reportedly grew hostile between the old friends. Bunn told the outlet that Wallace had been planning to leave Bad Boy Records soon. Bunn said, “I know for a fact [because] he told me that.“
Burrowes also claimed that Combs was approached with the idea of putting Biggie’s face on the cover of Rolling Stone after his death, but the rapper was having none of it. He recalled,
I was telling Sean, ‘Let’s make it Biggie. You still have a chance [for a cover in the future]. He’s like, ‘No, he’s dead. I’m putting out [Combs’ debut album No Way Out] in July. I need to be on the cover of Rolling Stone.
As for whether Combs was involved in the murder of Biggie or not, the rapper’s former bodyguard, Gene Deal, claims that he may have been. In the documentary, Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, Geal said, “So did he directly have something to do with it? He could have” (via New York Post).
What Biggie’s Mother Really Thinks About Diddy

Biggie’s mother, Voletta Wallace, came after Combs following her son’s death, claiming that the now-imprisoned rapper only “loved” her son “after he was dead.“
In her memoir, via The Root, she wrote about how glad she was that her son is not here to see her mother being used by the very people he thought were his ride-or-dies.
My son was part of a high-stakes game and didn’t know the rules. I’m glad he does not have to witness that the very people that he thought he could ride and die with wouldn’t think twice about using his mother. I am glad that he’s not here to see how they have used his image and his name.
Later, Voletta also talked about the allegations of s*xual abuse made against Combs, stating that she was praying for Cassie Ventura and his mother. She then added that the one thing she would like to do is “slap the daylights out of him.“
In her words to Rolling Stone,
The only thing I want to do is slap the daylights out of him. And you can quote me on that. I liked him. I didn’t want to believe all the awful things, but I’m so ashamed and embarrassed.
Following the allegations, Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison; however, he has officially filed an appeal against his conviction and sentence.
