Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars began with 13 famous faces hitting the stage in hopes of winning the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
Each week, the contestants receive scores from Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli – and sometimes a guest judge. Those scores are combined with viewer votes to determine who will be eliminated at the end of the live shows.
The season began with a double elimination and was followed by another one during the October 8, 2024, episode.
Week 1: No Eliminations
During the premiere, each couple performed an unlearned dance to a song they considered to be their personal anthem. Everybody was safe this week, as it was a non-elimination round.
Week 2: Anna Delvey
Infamous con artist Anna and dance partner Ezra Sosa were one of two couples eliminated during Week 2. They performed the quickstep to KT Tunstall’s “Suddenly I See” for Oscars Night. Many fans were shocked by Anna’s reaction to her elimination, as she responded, “Nothing,” when Julianne asked her what she would “take away from the show.”
Week 2: Tori Spelling
Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Tori and dance partner Pasha Pashkov were also eliminated during Week 2 after performing the rumba to “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman.
“It was truly an unbelievable journey and experience,” she told Us Weekly after the elimination. “Obviously, I felt like I was just starting, and I was seeing such a huge change in myself, physically and mentally [and] emotionally. I wanted to keep going, obviously, but I’m grateful I did it.”
Week No. 3: Eric Roberts
Due to the Vice Presidential debate on October 1, 2024, there was no live Dancing With the Stars episode that week. Instead, back-to-back episodes aired on October 7, 2024, and October 8, 2024, ending with a double elimination.
Eric Roberts and his partner Britt Stewart were one of the couples sent home after Soul Train night and Hair Metal night.
Week No. 3: Reginald VelJohnson
Although Reginald became a beloved fan-favorite on this season of DWTS, he and Emma Slater continued to receive lower scores and were sent home along with Eric and Britt.
