Ariana Grande faced a wild and somewhat chaotic moment at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore on November 13 when a man named Johnson Wen suddenly jumped a barricade and grabbed her. He put his arm around the actress’ shoulder and tried to pose before security rushed in and pulled him away (via Instagram).

The altercation left Ariana Grande visibly shaken, beside her co-star Cynthia Erivo. But turns out, this was not a random accident, because Johnson Wen is known for crashing major events, running onto stages, and interrupting public moments without warning. So now, fans are curious about who he actually is, and why he keeps doing this.

Who Is Influencer Johnson Wen, AKA the Pyjama Man?

Well, turns out, Johnson Wen is a 26-year-old Australian influencer who calls himself the “Pyjama Man”. And he actually became famous because of his strange stunts, where he suddenly appears at events wearing pajamas or casual clothes, and jumps over barricades to meet up with celebrities.

In fact, his Instagram bio reads “Troll Most Hated”, which shows that he enjoys shocking or rage-baiting people. At the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore, after Wen broke security and ran toward Ariana Grande, he even shared the video on his Instagram claiming to be a big fan of the singer.

But now, according to BBC News, it has been revealed that the incident pushed Singaporean officials to take action. Wen was taken to court where he was found guilty of causing a public nuisance. During the hearing, he had no lawyer and simply assured the judge he would “not do it again”.

The court thus sentenced him to nine days in prison. It could have been worse, as the law allows up to three months in jail and a heavy fine that goes up to S$2,000 (£1,167; $1,537).

Every Other Celebrity Harassed by Johnson Wen

Meanwhile, the Wicked: For Good premiere wasn’t the first time Johnson Wen ran toward a celebrity. Given how he’s known for doing this public stunt, Wen has done similar things many times before. He has videos of himself rushing to singers like The Chainsmokers and The Weeknd during their concerts.

Each time, he caused fear and chaos, before he was pulled away by security. These moments made him known online, but they also made him look dangerous. Not to mention, the Pyjama Man has also crashed major sports events. He ran onto the field during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup final, interrupting the match.

Further, he also tried to invade a track event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which again forced security to remove him. Most recently, in June 2025, Johnson Wen caused another big scene at Katy Perry’s concert in Sydney. He climbed onto the stage and put his arm around her, shocking the crowd.

Security dragged him out as Perry tried to calm her fans. After this event, Wen told 9News that his stage-crashing days were over and he was “planning to quit forever”, because the trouble was getting too serious. But his recent actions with Ariana Grande prove that he did not keep that promise.

Do you think Johnson Wen will seriously stop this, after he assured the judge at the Singapore court? Let us know in the comments.

Wicked: For Good is scheduled to release on November 21, 2025.
