Nicole Kidman’s daughters have reportedly chosen sides, and they’re standing firmly in their mother’s corner. As the award-winning actress endures the emotional weight of a very public divorce from Keith Urban, their daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, are proving that loyalty runs thicker than bloodlines in the entertainment industry. A source told Star Magazine:
Nicole has always been extremely conscious of appearances. Keith is the villain and Nicole is the victim, which is clearly how she wants it. Sunday and Faith love their dad dearly, but they’re feeling very loyal to their mom right now, and they’ve made it their mission to be by her side.
Another source added:
She’s cried a lot of tears. It’s been a horrific couple of weeks.
Despite the heartache, Kidman “is made of tough stuff, so hiding out at home or behind closed doors isn’t an option.” Kidman filed for divorce on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences after nearly 19 years of marriage. The split is reportedly complicated by rumors of Urban already moving on with a younger woman in the music industry.
For those unfamiliar with Nicole Kidman’s daughters, here’s a brief overview. Born in 2008 in Nashville, Sunday Rose is Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s eldest daughter. A blend of Aussie roots and Southern charm, she’s shown an early passion for music, acting, and recently modeling. Sunday made her runway debut at Paris Fashion Week in 2024 and has since walked for Miu Miu twice.
Meanwhile, Faith Margaret, born via surrogate in 2010, is Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s younger daughter. She’s made small appearances in Big Little Lies and The Angry Birds 2.
Nicole Kidman Seeks Primary Custody of Daughters Amid Split from Keith Urban

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Nicole Kidman has officially requested to become the primary residential parent of her two daughters with Keith Urban. The agreed parenting plan reportedly grants Kidman 306 days with Sunday and Faith annually, compared to Urban’s 59 days, a nearly 5:1 ratio.
The documents also state that neither party will receive child support, as Urban has “already prepaid all child support obligations” under an alternative financial arrangement. Both parents are barred from speaking negatively about each other or their families and must encourage their daughters to maintain strong relationships with both sides.
The co-parents must also attend a court-mandated parenting seminar within 60 days of the divorce filing. Interestingly, the plan appears to have been finalized before the public even knew about the split, with Kidman signing on September 6 and Urban on August 29.
Despite the heartbreak, Kidman remains fiercely protective and close to her children. “I sit on their beds and discuss the most intimate things; I get to be their guide,” she told Allure in May 2024.
I’m able to apologize to them. I’m able to stand up to them. I very much like the relationship we have.
Well, Kidman has always prioritized motherhood, and it’s paying off. The children have even voiced baby birds in Angry Birds 2 and appeared as extras in Big Little Lies, evidence of a low-key but creatively engaged upbringing.
Keith Urban Breaks Silence With Apology Amid Rumors He Left Nicole Kidman for Younger Woman

While headlines about Nicole Kidman’s strength have gone viral, Keith Urban’s silence on the rumored new relationship has spoken volumes until now. He didn’t address the elephant in the room directly, but amid the swirling gossip, he issued a heartfelt public apology to fans after canceling his October 16 concert in Greenville, South Carolina, due to laryngitis.
Hey Greenville, I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show ….I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert these days and I’ve never taken any of that, or any of YOU for granted. I’m looking forward to getting back there when we can!!!!!”
The statement was respectful, but glaringly omitted any mention of the rumors of infidelity or his rumored younger partner. A Nashville music insider told the Daily Mail:
The rumor is that he’s with a younger woman in the business. It’s all everyone is talking about.
Rob Shuter (via ShuterScoop) doubled down, saying Kidman “heard the stories; she saw the signs.” According to him, the couple is no longer communicating directly.
It’s icy. They’re not even texting. Everything — custody, property, money — runs through the lawyers.
Urban’s personal turbulence seems to be seeping into his professional life. Is this the beginning of a new matriarchal chapter in Kidman’s life with her daughters as her fiercest allies? Or will Urban find a way to rewrite his role in this modern family dynamic?
