What Happened When Kim Kardashian Used ChatGPT for Law Exam Prep: Did She Pass the Bar?

By Robert Garcia 11/08/2025

Kim Kardashian is learning the hard way that generative AI is not always reliable. The All’s Fair star, 45, admitted that she has been using ChatGPT to help her prepare for law exams, but the results have been disastrous. During Vanity Fair’s lie detector test YouTube series, Kardashian’s All’s Fair co-star Teyana Taylor asked if she had ever used ChatGPT for life or dating advice. Kardashian said she hadn’t for love but confessed:

I use it for legal advice. So, when I am needing to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there. They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests all the time. And then I’ll get mad and yell at it and be like, ‘You made me fail. Why did you this?’ And it will talk back to me.

Kardashian explained that she sometimes tries reasoning with the AI:

I will talk to it and say, ‘Hey, you’re going to make me fail. How does it make you feel? … I need to really know these answers, and I’m coming to you.’ And it’ll say back to me, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts. You knew the answer all along.’

Taylor teased that ChatGPT felt like a “frenemy” or “toxic friend” rather than an ally, and Kardashian agreed. The latter has been studying law for years and has passed the ‘baby bar’ exam, though she confessed she does not yet consider herself a “real lawyer”. She confirmed she has given legal advice to family and friends, all while balancing her Skims empire, acting career, and high-profile personal life.

Did Kim Kardashian Pass the Bar Exam? All’s Fair Star is ‘100% Confident’ She Will

Kim Kardashian, 45, received her California bar exam results on November 7, 2025, after a six-year journey studying law. While the official pass/fail status of her main bar exam remains unconfirmed, the reality star has expressed confidence. According to The Daily Beast, Kardashian said she is “100% confident” she will pass the bar exam.

She has been studying under a lawyer through California’s apprenticeship programme since 2018, completing it in May. “It was the wildest idea that I was going to law school,” she said (via AOL):

But to me it all makes sense and I hope that I’m forever curious and always want to try new things.

Her law ambitions are closely tied to criminal justice reform. Since lobbying for clemency for Alice Marie Johnson in 2018, Kardashian has supported campaigns to free nonviolent offenders and backed legislative efforts such as the First Step Act.

Law runs in her veins—her father, Robert Kardashian, was an attorney who famously joined O.J. Simpson’s defense team in 1995. And while her personal life has been tumultuous, divorced three times, including a high-profile split from Kanye West, her dedication to the law has remained steadfast.
