Turk has revealed that he is preparing to sue Birdman’s Cash Money after claiming that he was booted from the Cash Money 30th Anniversary Tour following several disputes over money.
In a video posted, the rapper sat beside his wife and manager Erica “Emani” Virgil, where he revealed that he had a termination notice after refusing to accept a diminished payout.
Virgil alleges that Dope Shows, the promoters behind the upcoming tour stops, tried to cut Turk’s performance fee, but he refused to take the lower offer. She says that shortly after, his contract was suddenly canceled, with promoters citing a supposed “risk” linked to a past online exchange with another artist.
Virgil, however, believes the move was simply revenge for Turk standing his ground and will no longer be performing at the dates scheduled for Cleveland, Chicago, or Detroit.
“The same day, after I refused to take less money than what the agency and promoters of the Cash Money 30th Anniversary Tour owed me, instead of saying they didn’t have enough money to pay me, I received a last-minute termination notice saying I was a ‘security risk,'” Turk wrote in the video’s caption on YouTube.
On Instagram, the couple also shared a cease-and-desist letter sent to the label.
