According to experts, the elaborate proposal alone cost more than the average American wedding. Florist Ashley Greer told PEOPLE the floral display featured more than 1,200 roses, 1,000 additional blooms, and 800 pounds of greenery arranged into a 20-foot arch. The arch alone could cost between $18,000 and $30,000, with urn arrangements valued at $1,000 to $3,000 each and ground installations running another $5,000.
In total, the lavish setup likely cost between $30,000 and $38,000, a figure that exceeds the $33,000 average cost of a U.S. wedding in 2024, according to Fidelity Investments.
Swift and Kelce confirmed their engagement on Instagram on August 28, captioning their photo carousel: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
The flowers weren’t the only costly detail. Swift’s engagement ring, custom-designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, has been valued anywhere from $950,000 to as much as $5 million. The vintage-inspired design features an Old Mine Brilliant-cut diamond weighing an estimated 7 to 10 carats set in 18-karat yellow gold. Swift’s engagement photos also featured a Cartier Santos Demoiselles diamond-studded watch worth more than $15,000, bringing the total price tag of the moment well into the multimillions.

The financial side of the couple’s union has already sparked speculation, with divorce lawyers openly suggesting Swift protect her assets with a prenuptial agreement.
