Tori Spelling’s son Beau is temporarily down for the count, and only days after his 8th birthday.
On Sunday, March 9, Spelling shared a photo of a sleeping Beau in her Instagram Story, along with a caption that will send chills down the spine of any parent during flu and cold season.
“Sorry for the pause in social media lately,” the mom wrote. “Norovirus waits for no one.” In case fans didn’t fully grasp the gravity of the situation, Spelling also shared a vomiting emoji.
Beau celebrated his 8th birthday just days earlier on March 3. Both Spelling and her ex-husband Dean McDermott posted tributes to their son on social media.
“Happy 8th Birthday to my baby!” Spelling wrote in her Instagram post. “You came into this world imprinting your name across my mind. Telling me exactly who you are and setting a lifetime tone of being my greatest teacher. Age is just a human number. You teach me everyday wisdom, compassion, empathy, kindness, at times bossiness 😂 and endless interest in life it’s so inspiring.”
“Your attention to detail and love of creativity drives me forward on my darkest days,” she continued. “A bright burning beacon of hope you will undoubtedly lead all in anything you choose to do. Your humor makes me laugh out loud. Inquisitive beautiful human! I’m so proud you chose me to be your mom. You fixed something in me that I didn’t think possible in this lifetime. “My Dude is 8 years old today!!! I can’t believe it,” the proud dad captioned the photo. “They grow up so fast!! I love you Buddy!! #happybirthday🎂,” McDermott captioned his own post on the platform.
Spelling and McDermott announced their divorce in March 2024. Spelling cited irreconcilable differences in her legal filing and noted the pair’s date of separation was June 17, 2023. She also requested sole physical custody (but joint legal custody) of the pair’s minor children, Liam, 17, Stella, 16, Hattie, 13, Finn, 12, and Beau, 8.
“It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own,” McDermott captioned throwback pics of himself and Spelling in June 2023. “We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time. We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and work our way through this. Thank you all for your support and kindness. 🙏.”
