A powerhouse voice, striking presence, and villainous edge – this singer-turned-actress could’ve been the literal Evil Queen in Snow White. While Gal Gadot held her own, she lacked the icy menace Charlize Theron mastered. This star, though, had every damn thing needed to steal the show.
Hollywood missed a golden casting opportunity, leaving us wondering, would she have been the most unforgettable Snow White villain yet?
Lady Gaga could’ve been a better Evil Queen than Gal Gadot in Snow White
Ain’t no way y’all are still questioning Lady Gaga’s acting chops, even after Joker 2’s disaster. That’s exactly why some fans think Disney fumbled the bag (big time) by not casting her as the Evil Queen in the 2025 Snow White remake.
One X user perfectly pointed out saying, “Not casting lady gaga as the evil queen in a darker-toned live-action snow white was such a missed opportunity”

Like, sure, Gaga may not have matched Charlize Theron’s legendary villain (Queen Ravenna) in Snow White & The Huntsman, but she definitely could’ve given a stronger, more nuanced performance than Gal Gadot. No shade (okay, maybe a little).
Despite her star power, Gadot’s take on the Evil Queen struggled to balance camp and menace, landing somewhere in the realm of overacted yet forgettable.
It didn’t help that the writing didn’t do her any favors. The Queen’s villain arc was way too rushed. Her interactions with the villagers were practically nonexistent. Even her big musical number, All Is Fair, fell flat, partly because… well, Gadot just doesn’t have the vocal range to carry a villain song.
Meanwhile, Gaga’s track record speaks for itself. From A Star Is Born to House of Gucci, she’s proven she can command the screen with depth, charisma, and yes, killer vocals. But considering Snow White’s lackluster reception (and Disney’s rocky live-action streak), maybe skipping this one wasn’t the worst career move.
Still, one can’t help but wonder… what if?
Fans say Lady Gaga would’ve outshined Gal Gadot as the evil queen
Casting Lady Gaga as the Evil Queen would surely have turned heads. Instead, Disney went with Gal Gadot, and let’s just say, fans aren’t so thrilled.
Many believe Gaga would’ve brought the perfect mix of wickedness and vocal power, making the Queen a truly unforgettable villain. Her striking look alone could have elevated the character, giving her a more commanding presence.
And yet, Lady Gaga's performances have been consistently praised by critics as having carried otherwise poor films. I don't doubt that her being associated with flops isn't good for her acting career, but she aboslutely has the talent for it.

@fagonetta Totally agree! Imagine Gaga serving up wickedness while belting out a haunting ballad. Instead, we’re probably stuck with another generic villain. Guess we’ll just have to wait for her next iconic role! 🎭✨

Sis I’ve been saying this since people started posting on how bad that Wonder Woman lady is. Gaga loves playing villain or tortured people. She would of even made a villain song Walt’s like in harlequin the album. Disney mad dumb

She fits the look really well. I feel like the queen definitely should have had eyebrows more like Gaga’s than Gadot’s. The evil queen looks so much better here for it.

On top of that, Gaga has a track record of carrying struggling films with her performances, proving she has both the talent and the star power. Some even argue she could’ve created a chilling villain anthem, much like her Harlequin era.
But considering Disney’s live-action track record, maybe she dodged a poisoned apple after all.
Snow White hit theatres on March 21, 2025.
