Recent reports from Sydney suggest American singer and actress Dove Cameron is allegedly engaged to Italian musician Damiano David (via TMZ). This news reminded fans of the young star’s career highlights, including her role on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

In the Marvel Television series, she played Ruby Hale, a major antagonist who appeared in Season 5. And among the many villains that were introduced, she was one of the most dangerous since she was born and raised to be the next leader of HYDRA.

The Dove Cameron and Damiano David Relationship Timeline, Explained

In a sudden announcement, TMZ was one of the first outlets to break the news about Dove Cameron being seen with an engagement ring alongside her long-time boyfriend, Damiano David. But this isn’t as surprising as the couple has been together for almost 3 years.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan, the ‘Ways to be Wicked’ singer revealed how she met David backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2022 when both were nominated for an award. Soon after, they began seeing each other, and the media quickly picked it up around September 2023.

And then very quickly it became “Let’s have dinner at 8:00 at this spot.” He’s a Capricorn, so he was very much like, “Okay, these are my intentions.” It was super honorable. He’s like a 1950s gentleman, angel, teddy bear. He’s the best person I’ve met in my life.

Soon after, the couple started making more public appearances across the globe, including the time she was seen attending a Maneskin concert at MSG in New York City that started it all.

And around February 2024, the couple’s dating rumors were fueled when a post was shared on Instagram via a record label executive, which was confirmed later during their entrance together at Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy gala.

And just a month before Cameron was seen with an engagement ring on her finger, she took to her IG to post a heartfelt message and montage of her life in a relationship with David for the past two years.

Villains Like Ruby Hale Are Why Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Deserves to Be MCU Canon

Apart from her reasons for being a dangerous villain, one of the most important aspects of Ruby Hale was her complex, antagonistic origins, which began when she was turned into a living weapon for HYDRA. This gives her an MCU-level villain origin and emphasizes the role of circumstances.

And with extremely high stakes at stake when fighting her, combined with the fact that she had the power to destroy worlds, it resonated with the level of tragedy many heroes and villains in the MCU went through. She also managed to connect the series to the wider Marvel lore, while proving to be a grounded series that focused more in-depth on the Marvel film franchise.

Adding the exceptional visual spectacle, even by today’s standards, and the performances of stars like Clark Gregg and Chloe Bennet, the show was nothing less than MCU cinema. Still, in 2020, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. concluded, ending on a high note.
