Sydney Sweeney has addressed her relationship status, claiming that she’s currently only focused on herself (via GQ). While the actor has been romantically linked to controversial figure Scooter Braun, Sweeney, who broke up with her fiancé, Jonathan Davin, this year, doubled down on the claims of being single, adding that she isn’t actively looking for anyone.
I’m single. I don’t think I’m looking for a man right now. What I’ve learned this year is that I have a really, really amazing group of girlfriends and I am strong and independent and that I’m going to be OK.
This, however, contradicts her recent sighting with Braun, where the duo were photographed sharing a kiss, further fueling the dating speculations (via People).

Back in September, it was reported that the two were casually dating after originally crossing paths at Jeff Bezos’ lavish wedding. Sources close to the actor claimed that her family was thrilled about her potential new relationship, noting, “It’s such a relief to see her genuinely happy.”
Their tender moment in N.Y.C.’s Central Park has further fueled this discussion. It’s also important to note that Sweeney hasn’t brushed off the possibility of embarking on a new relationship, adding:
If love finds me, love finds me. I’m a hopeless romantic, so I hope love finds me, but I’m not the type of person that wants to go out all the time. And I do believe in true love and wanting to be with someone for the rest of my life.
Whether the duo of Braun and Sweeney will transpire into something serious remains to be seen, but don’t expect to hear it from the Euphoria star anytime soon.

Since rising to stardom, Sweeney has done an immaculate job of separating her private life from her professional one. Despite being the focus of several controversies in recent months, the actor has refrained from addressing these situations entirely.
As for why? Sweeney confessed that her decision to prioritize her private life is to benefit her own health and sanity, claiming that allowing everyone in all the time would rob the Euphoria star of herself. She shared:
The professional benefits for me of being private is for my own health and sanity. I think that if I let everybody in all the time, I have nothing for myself. I’m just a 28-year-old woman who’s trying to figure it out, and I’m still learning and I’m going to make mistakes and I’m going to grow. And I think that it’s important to be able to do that without having to say every single thing all the time.
On the movie front, it’ll be interesting to see if her upcoming biopic, Christy, can break her box office struggle after two back-to-back flops.
