Multi-Billionaire Calls Out Billie Eilish’s Alleged Hypocrisy Even After Her $11.5 Million Donation

By George Brown 11/02/2025

Multi billionaire Grant Cardone has sparked a big online debate, after he called out singer Billie Eilish on X. This happened right after the pop star donated $11.5M to people in need and encouraged rich people to do the same. While many fans praised her for helping others and not everyone agreed; Cardone was one of them.

Grant Cardone, who is a well-known businessman and motivational speaker, fired back online, calling out the pop star’s hypocrisy. After Billie Eilish asked billionaires to donate more, saying “give your money away shorties”, Cardone clapped back at her saying “give your music away my Queen”. Implying that she should not sell her music, and instead just upload them for free, without copyright.

Hey Billie, big fan here. I noticed you’re playing in New Orleans next week, on of the poorer cities in USA and the lowest prices seat is $129. Why not make all the seats free. pic.twitter.com/mdXRDIyNTb

Cardone also questioned why Eilish was asking billionaires to donate more when her own concert ticket prices were not cheap. He pointed out that Billie is performing in New Orleans, a city with many low-income residents, and the cheapest seat is still $129. So now, his comments have quickly spread across the internet, leading to strong reactions from fans, critics, and supporters on both sides.

Billie Eilish Donates $11.5M From Her Tour, Urges Billionaires to Step Up Too

So far, it’s fair to say that Billie Eilish is doing very well in her music career. She has been touring around the world, performing an extensive international run with 106 sold-out shows, and even received the Wall Street Journal Magazine’s Music Innovator of the Year award in New York on Wednesday, Oct. 29 (via Rolling Stone).

Even her third studio album has received a two-times platinum certification from the RIAA with 2 million copies sold. But instead of keeping all her tour money, Eilish decided to donate a huge amount, to be specific $11.5 million to different charities and organizations. The news about this donation was revealed by Stephen Colbert at the award event.

We’re in a time right now when the world is really, really bad and really dark. People need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever, especially in our country. I’d say if you have money, it would be great to use it for good things and maybe give it to some people that need it.

Love you all, but there’s a few people in here who have a lot more money than me. If you’re a billionaire, why are you a billionaire? No hate, but yeah, give your money away.

While accepting the Music Innovator of the Year award in a room of affluent figures, including tech billionaire Mark Zuckerberg, Billie Eilish talked about how hard the world is right now and how many people are struggling. And so instead of letting people struggle, the pop star urged billionaires to help those who really need financial support.

Grant Cardone’s Digs at Billie Eilish Sparks Fierce Online Backlash

However, not everyone supported Billie Eilish’s comment. Billionaire Grant Cardone quickly fired back at her online. He said that if Eilish wants billionaires to give away their money, then she should also give away her music for free. He shared a sarcastic message saying she should not sell tickets and not lecture people on how to use their money.

Cardone suggested that since billionaires do not tell Billie Eilish how to spend her money, she should not tell them how to spend theirs, either. But after the billionaire posted his comments, social media exploded. People unanimously supported Eilish and her cause, since she was doing something good for the world.

You literally just made a post saying what would you do with 22 million, meaning you have a spare 22 and want ideas/advice lmao

Grant, $11.5M is 20% of Billie's entire net worth. Are you donating 20% of your entire net worth as well?

You literally did that. Calling her comment a lecture sounds like a kid when a parent points something out. The point was how much is enough while watching millions of Americans, despite doing their best, go hungry and be homeless. Some of them vets that protected billionaires.

You sure dole out enough bullshit on how much money people should make.

Soon, Grant Cardone found himself facing strong criticism online, with many calling his comments unnecessary and harsh. But Billie Eilish has yet to address his remarks or comment on them.

What do you think of Grant Cardone’s comments on Billie Eilish’s urge for support and donations from billionaires? Let us know in the comments.
