The Mayor of Kingstown star, Jeremy Renner, is pushing back against allegations made by filmmaker Yi Zhou, who accused the actor of sending inappropriate messages. “The allegations are totally inaccurate and untrue,” a rep for the actor told People.

Renner’s attorney, Marty Singer, also issued a firm denial, describing Zhou’s accusations as “false, outrageous, and highly defamatory.”

The true facts are that Ms. Zhou has relentlessly and aggressively harassed and pursued my client for months with no reciprocation on my client’s part, other than a single brief encounter on July 12, 2025.

According to Singer, Zhou continued contacting Renner through August, sending “s*xually explicit messages expressing her love,” which he ignored. Her final message was allegedly sent on October 24.

The attorney further claimed Zhou’s accusations were made in retaliation after Renner “rejected her romantic advances” and declined to support her professional projects.
