Michael C. Hall has been carrying one of the boldest roles in the history of TV series in the thriller entry, Dexter. In the glamour of his most celebrated role of a serial killer, many forget a character he portrayed in one of the most critically acclaimed series, with an 81% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Crown.
Playing the role of the US president, John F. Kennedy, Hall joined a grand ensemble in this periodic drama. Hall was seen in the Season 2 Episode 8, titled Dear Mrs. Kennedy. Meanwhile, the wife of President Kennedy, Jackie Kennedy, was portrayed by writer, director, Jodi Balfour, also known for Ted Lasso. While the series received an 8.6/10, the episode in question itself hit a thunderous 9.1/10 mark on IMDb.
Currently, the star has reprised his role of Dexter Morgan in Dexter: Resurrection, winning hearts all over again.
Michael C. Hall’s Second Acclaimed Series Has a Big Dexter Update




While The Crown has gained great praise from the audience as well as the critics, the Dexter franchise also happens to be one of the feathers that Hall has in his cap. After shattering records in the 2006 thriller entry, Dexter, he stepped back in the same universe for Dexter: Original Sin. However, his role in the 2024 outing was not more than that of a voice-over artist, as he was heard narrating the story.
To have the fans of the Dexter franchise, which sits at a 71% score, hyped up, Hall is ready to suit up as the killer we all wanted, once again. Following another round of echoing applause, Dexter: Resurrection received, the series has been renewed for a second season. It was just last month that the sequel entry was officially renewed for Season 2 at Paramount+, as per Variety.
Now, a report by ComicBook, the writers were assembled in early October, with the story being penned at present. Moreover, its showrunner Clyde Phillips suggests that the story will take about five months to finish. This suggests that the production crew will have a base ready around February or March next year. Phillips also stated, as per ComicBook, that filming will begin on April 13, 2026.
Upcoming Project Michael C. Hall Will Star In

Enough about Hall’s Dexter characterization as the star is set to hit the big screen this time. The Hollywood Reporter revealed details of a thriller film, Stratagem. The movie will see Michael C. Hall star alongside Noomi Rapace, widely acclaimed for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, of the Alien franchise, as well as Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. They will be joined by Past Lives, Teo Yoo, in the project helmed by Michael Idov. A release date for the project is yet to be announced.
The plot of the film in question follows a CIA agent, Stella Turner, who recruits a tech prodigy, Daniel Sim, in order to save US secrets from being leaked.
