The case surrounding Celeste Rivas’s death sharpened again as authorities confirmed that singer D4vd remains a suspect in the discovery of the 15-year-old’s remains inside a vehicle registered to him. According to an NBC Los Angeles, “He has not been cooperative,” and the teen “most likely died in the spring,” with the source further stating that D4vd “most likely had help dismembering and disposing of the body.” 

D4vd’s lawyers have not responded, though a spokesperson had previously said he was “fully cooperating with authorities.” Celeste Rivas Hernandez was found Sept. 8 in the trunk of a Tesla that had been parked for weeks, and investigators say she “may have been deceased for several weeks before the discovery of her body.”

Hernandez said he later heard about Rivas’ alleged relationship with D4vd, admitting he was surprised because “he thought she was happy outside of her home life.” His regret came through plainly: 

No one cared. I don’t know, I should have done something.

Rivas’ history of running away was documented: found in Hollywood after being reported missing in April 2024 (per Los Angeles Times), then missing again the following month. People close to her believe she used fake IDs, which allowed her access to age-restricted spaces. Friends of D4vd claimed they assumed she was a USC student. The two shared matching “Sshhhh” tattoos on their index fingers.
