Industry scooper Daniel Richtman revealed on X/Twitter that actor Sam Witwer, notably known for voicing Galen Marek aka Starkiller, almost joined several Star Wars ventures. Check out his tweet below:
He was also in almost every recent Star Wars project https://t.co/zWeSb89wvy
Witwer’s Starkiller isn’t new to the galaxy far, far away. Although the character is no longer considered part of the canon, fans cannot forget that he did appear in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video game series.
Richtman’s tweet is yet to receive confirmation, but the idea of Witwer starring in Star Wars live-action films and series isn’t a novel one. In fact, many fans have been hoping for this to happen.
After Voicing Starkiller, Sam Witwer Wants to Play the Character In Live-Action

Would Witwer play Starkiller in the canon? The actor responded to a fan question at a Comic Con event and jokingly said, “I’d shave my head tomorrow,” seemingly referring to Marek’s signature hairstyle.
Giving a more in-depth explanation about the possibility of portraying the character for the long haul, Witwer said (via Star Wars Sith on YouTube):
Unless it’s a quick cameo, it does require a little bit of an investment in screen time. If he’s a quick cameo, he can get away with a lot, right? But if he’s there for a little bit longer, it starts requiring for an explanation. Who is this guy?
Additionally, Witwer proposed a possible showdown that would not only demonstrate Starkiller’s capabilities but would also shed light on his past, which is his connection to Darth Vader.
But I like the idea of the symmetry between Ahsoka on one side as Anakin’s padawan and Starkiller as Vader’s apprentice and they have a lot of the same lightsaber styles. I thought that was really neat. I like that.
If Richtman’s scoop turns out to be true, it’s a shame that Kathleen Kennedy’s Lucasfilm and Disney have not decided to bring back Starkiller into the current Star Wars fold. A very intriguing character with so much to offer in the live-action franchises needs to be reconsidered at once.
Why Disney & Lucasfilm Should Reintroduce Starkiller to the New Generation

Witwer’s answer about investing time in playing Starkiller rings true because the character’s backstory goes back to the time of Darth Vader’s Kashyyk mission searching for the last Jedi who escaped Order 66.
After getting rid of an outcast Jedi, he took the man’s son under his wing and trained him in the dark side of the Force, unbeknownst to Lord Palpatine/Darth Sidious. Now stronger and more dangerous, Galen Marek became Starkiller and was sent by Vader to hunt down Jedi that he himself could not kill.
Such an idea would raise speculations that Starkiller is indeed stronger than Vader, and this alone is reason enough for Disney and Lucasfilm to reintroduce the character to the canon, especially to the new and younger fans.
