Kaley Cuoco’s pregnancy written into her new show Based On A True Story at last minute

Kaley Cuoco has opened up about how her new TV show, Based On A True Story, was adapted over her pregnancy.

The Big Bang Theory actress is set to welcome her first child, with boyfriend Tom Pelphrey, later this year.

In a new interview, the 37-year-old discussed her upcoming Peacock series was changed at the last minute to incorporate her baby journey, with everyone behind-the-scenes going above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable.

‘When I signed on for [Based On A True Story], I was obviously not pregnant and it was written very differently,’ she began. ‘We’re getting started to shoot, we’re talking literally a month or two out, I met with the producers and I was like, “Um, what do you think about writing this character pregnant?”

‘Crazily enough, they wrote it in.’

She also heaped praise on bosses for ‘taking care’ of her throughout the project.

‘It ended up being such an interesting part of this show. The show is so funny and so wacky and so strange,’ the mom-to-be continued to Entertainment Tonight. ‘The best part about it for me is I get to be pregnant, eat whatever. I get to wear the most comfortable clothes, everyone treats me like a queen.

‘I had like 17 different chairs on set. If you’re working up until the end of your third trimester, which I am, this was the way to do it. Obviously this is the first time in my life I’ve ever done this, so they’ve really taken care of me and amazingly enough, I actually think it’s a great part of the show.’

Kaley was first linked to Ozark actor Tom last year, and revealed that it was truly ‘love at first sight’ between the pair.

They confirmed their relationship in May, and later sent fans into meltdown in October when they confirmed that they would be welcoming their first child together.

Jim Parsons, who starred opposite Kaley on the Big Bang Theory, couldn’t help sharing his delight at her baby joy during an interview on the red carpet.

He told the publication: ’She’s going to be incredible. She was a mother-like figure to me for many years on Big Bang, even though I’m tremendously older than her.

‘She’s a comforting presence. It was a pleasure to work with her day in and day out.

‘She’s a very warm person, and I think that child is lucky to have her for a mother.’
