Hilaria Baldwin‘s entry on Dancing With the Stars wasn’t destiny, according to RadarOnline‘s source. This insider claimed that Baldwin was desperate for a spot on the high-profile show. They shared that Baldwin was “never at the top of their list.” The report shared that she had been campaigning for months, with TikTok videos of her salsa spins and DMing the producers on the show.
According to a second source, she wanted the gig because of Alec Baldwin’s current situation. The family is allegedly struggling financially, and the source shared, “Between Alec’s legal drama, her fake-Spanish-accent scandal, and her influencer antics, Hilaria comes with ready-made headlines.”
The first source, a production insider on the show, shared, “Honestly, she wasn’t even ON the list. But when a star bailed at the last minute, they needed a body – and Hilaria was standing by with her dance shoes already packed.” Another insider joked about her situation, “She wanted DWTS more than DWTS wanted her. It was less fate, more full-court press.”
Baldwin earlier denied Dancing With the Stars co-host Julianne Hough’s claim that she was “campaigning” on social media for her spot on the show. Baldwin shared on Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, “I don’t know where she got that from. I loved it. Because I saw that too, and I was like, ‘That’s not how it happened.’” She maintained that she unexpectedly received the call from the producers.
Hilaria Baldwin Blamed Online ‘Mean Girls’ for DWTS Week 4 Elimination

After week 4’s Disney Night round on Dancing With the Stars, it was Hilaria Baldwin and her pro partner, Gleb Savchenko, who were eliminated from the show. The pair did a Star Wars-inspired quickstep number, which didn’t work out for them well.
While they maintained mostly mid-range scores, the viewers’ votes didn’t turn out in their favor. Hilaria later put the blame on TikTok ‘mean girls’ during an interview with Us Weekly. When she was asked why she believed she was eliminated, she shared:
I’m very new to TikTok. I’ve only been on a couple months. It’s interesting because there’s a lot of mean girls. I guess what people were doing is they were having campaigns where they wouldn’t just vote for their favorite — because you can vote 10 times for a couple — they were voting for all the other couples except us, so they were boosting everybody else and trying to drown out my fan base.
She shared that while she was glad that her friends got to stay, she would have loved to dance more on the show. Before Baldwin and Savchenko, the show said goodbye to three pairs: Former NBA star Baron Davis and his pro partner, Britt Stewart, Corey Feldman and Jenna Johnson, and Fifth Harmony member Lauren Jauregui and Brandon Armstrong were eliminated from the show.
Hilaria Baldwin Wasn’t the Producers’ Favorite, Unlike These Celebrity Contestants

An insider told RadarOnline that Hilaria Baldwin was “not the producers’ dream contestant.” The source also added that Baldwin was “desperate enough” for the spot on the show. Interestingly, sources earlier shared that the show producers did have other favorite contestants on Dancing With the Stars Season 34.
Sources told The U.S. Sun that the producers are set to play on the “nostalgic factor” with Steve Irwin’s son, Robert Irwin. The source shared that the producers are “all in on” Irwin and his pro partner Witney Carson this season. The insider shared:
He’s that lovable, family-friendly, non-political figure they need right now. Robert looks and acts so much like Steve, and his story tugs at the heartstrings.
Irwin has been winning over more fans after he showed a side to himself that was previously unfamiliar to his followers. However, Irwin wasn’t the only one the producers are betting on.
They also allegedly consider The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt and her partner Mark Ballas as favorites. Leavitt already came with a lot of fan following into the show, and fans are loving her performances.
