“He was being horrible to me”: Female Reporter Says Michael Fassbender Was So Mean She Got an Unpleasant Call From Studio

By Robert Garcia 10/17/2025

Michael Fassbender certainly strikes as one of the most charming studs in Hollywood, but reporter Kjersti Flaa appears to have some sincere complaints with him. According to her claims, this one time in an interview with her, the X-Men: Days of Future Past star was so mean that Flaa ended up getting an unpleasant call from the studios to never air that interview again!

In the latest episode of Flaawsome Talk that she shared on YouTube, the reporter revealed her honest thoughts on interviewing Fassbender, sharing,

Fassbender is the person that I fear the most to interview. I had an amazing interview with him once, and another time, he was being horrible to me. He was being so horrible that the studio called me afterwards and said, ‘You’re never allowed to show that interview.’ That’s how mean he was.

Sounds like Flaa didn’t quite get to have the epic interview with Fassbender that she must have been looking forward to, after that “amazing” first interview with him. As she continued to say in her video,

He’s definitely [Dr.] Jekyll and Mr. Hyde to me. But when you see him on his best behavior, he’s the most charming guy ever.

Well, the actor has a pretty fair history of controversies for himself throughout his time as one of the most famed stars in Hollywood (we’ll come to this soon), so Flaa’s comments don’t quite come as a surprise. At the same time, it’s worth noting that her interviews with Fassbender must have really gotten to the reporter, considering how this wasn’t the first time she talked about it!

Kjersti Flaa Said Michael Fassbender Was “So Charming and Flirtatious” in Their First Interview

Around a year ago, before this latest video from her, Kjersti Flaa once again opened up about her interview with Michael Fassbender while talking to Nelson Aspen. In the video, she shared how the Shame star was “so charming and flirtatious” in their first interview, but pretty much completely turned off the charming factor the next time they sat down to talk.

In the interview with Aspen, which has been titled “The celebrities we don’t want to interview again,” Flaa said about Fassbender (via YouTube),

He was the most charming. I was like ‘Oh my god, he’s so s*xy.’ And he was just so charming and flirtatious in our interview. Next time I met him, I was like, We’re gonna catch up again. And then he was so mean. I was like, it was awful.

However, this time around, she tried to be more understanding of his behavior instead of just flat-out deeming him a rude personality to interview. She said,

Then I thought, Okay, I can’t take this personally because I’m still the same person as I was [the last] time I interviewed him; he is just in a terrible mood.

In fact, to further calm her nerves and avoid feeling bad about the actor, she speculated that the X-Men star might have gotten into a bad mood due to, perhaps, an annoyed text or something similar from someone, since he was using his phone when she walked into the room for their interview. The reporter reasoned,

You know, sometimes you can get into the room and they just got a text from someone that’s, you know, annoyed with them or whatever. And they’re just sitting on their phone – like he was doing when I entered the room. He was looking at his phone, and you know, maybe he got a really terrible message or something like that. And, of course, the next person that sits down and talks to you [in such a moment], you’re like, ‘Oh, F you.’

Of course, that’s a possibility too, because celebrities are humans as well, with feelings and mood swings of their own. Plus, her initial charming interview with the actor certainly acted as a reminder for her that he’s not necessarily a badly behaving person, but he just might not be in the best of moods to indulge in a conversation with anyone. So that’s that too.

Michael Fassbender Has a Fair History of Controversies

Michael Fassbender is one of the most commended stars in the entertainment industry, having even been a part of major franchises like the X-Men and the Alien film series. However, his life hasn’t been without controversies of its own. If anything, over the years, he has been embroiled in quite a few rumors throughout his career, as per multiple reports from outlets.

For one, during the after-party of his 2011 horror-drama flick, A Dangerous Method, rumors swirled around that the actor was asked to leave the place because of his behavior. Apparently, as quoted by The Sun (via Page Six), he was “grabbing co-stars” and was smoking a cigarette inside the room, which reportedly made others uncomfortable.

Prior to this, TMZ reported that Fassbender’s ex-girlfriend, Sunawin ‘Leasi’ Andrews, filed a restraining order against him in 2010 with accusations of physical violence. According to the reports, the relationship that Andrews had with the actor was abusive and led to severe injuries, leading to her alleging him of domestic violence (see The Daily Beast for further reports).

One other misconduct claim had it that The Killer star reportedly dragged his said ex-girlfriend outside his car after getting upset due to her interaction with one of her ex-boyfriends. Another alleged incident of his violent behavior is said to have taken place at a film festival, when Fassbender was accused of throwing a chair at Andrews.

However, it’s worth noting that Fassbender himself has never made any public comment about all these allegations and controversies. Plus, as per reports from The Mercury News that followed, his said ex-girlfriend even withdrew her petition later on, settling their case. So that’s that as well.

Either way, all of these events call for a debate about Michael Fassbender and his personality and behavior, considering how even Kjersti Flaa has praised as well as complained while talking about her interviews with him.
