Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are reuniting for a project after their eight-year stint in Game of Thrones. The duo stars as a romantic couple in Natasha Kermani’s horror flick, The Dreadful. The stars are already feeling the ick after they played siblings in the HBO show for a long time. Harington recently opened up about the experience during an interview with E! News.
Harington shared that kissing Turner for the movie was “weird”. However, he shared that it was his former on-screen sibling who sent the opportunity his way. He shared, “She was one that sent that movie to me and somehow didn’t see what I saw in it.” He pointed out to Turner that their characters were lovers in the movie. He shared:
I was like, ‘These guys, these are lovers, right?’ I felt very odd about that. But it was a good chance to be with her again and work together…
He further shared that they were able to reignite their friendship again, and it felt like being with family again. He shared, “What was lovely is that we got on set together and our friendship completely ignited again. It felt like being with family. It really did.”
Turner also commented on playing the romantic interest of Harington in the movie. She shared on Late Night with Seth Meyers that they were both “retching” after their kiss scene. She shared, “Like, really, it is vile. It was the worst.”
Kit Harington’s Embarrassing Story About Working Alongside Sophie Turner

Interestingly, it wasn’t the awkwardness of the kissing that posed a problem for Kit Harington. He also faced trouble due to their height difference in the movie. The actress who played Sansa Stark towers over her co-star with a height of 5 feet 9 inches. Meanwhile, Harington’s height is listed as 5’7″ or 5’8″ according to different sources.
He shared that it was embarrassing when he had to use an apple box every time they had to kiss in a scene. The actor was probably exaggerating the height difference, but the story came across as funny nevertheless. He shared with E! News:
It was slightly embarrassing, having to get on an apple box to kiss her because she’s about a foot taller than me. But other than that, my dignity was pretty intact.
The Gothic horror film has a unique connection to Turner and Harington’s previous project. Kermani’s film will be set against the backdrop of the War of the Roses, a historical event that inspired George R. R. Martin to come up with A Song of Ice and Fire series. Turner is also serving as a producer in the film, as she looks to revive her career.
