Friends Star Makes A Heart-Breaking Claim About The Series

Just like fans of the Leprechaun franchise can expect to never see Jennifer Aniston reprise her career-launching role, the actress recently crushed the hearts of Friends fans when she revealed that the HBO Max reunion was a one-and-done type of deal. Chatting on The Jonathan Ross Show (via Daily Mail), while promoting her new Netflix comedy Murder Mystery 2, the actress shot down the possibility of the cast ever reuniting for another special or reboot, adding that even so, she and her co-stars would be “family forever.” Raking in crushing viewership numbers and seeing the gang back together almost a full two decades since the beloved sitcom bowed out in 2004, the reunion first hit the platform in 2021 with the original cast returning to talk about their time on the series.

During her sit down, Jennifer Aniston reminisced on her long-running time on Friends, admitting that she does tune in for reruns of the show every once in a while, not always initially remembering what the episode is about. While she says that she thinks the reunion was a once-in-a-lifetime gettogether, calling it a “swansong”, she gives fans what they want to hear adding, “you do never know.” And, even though another reunion may not happen, the We’re the Millers star says that she and her castmates will “never shake each other” and that they’re “family forever.”

The ten-season running series was created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman and was an immediate success when it premiered on NBC in 1994. In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last three decades, the show focuses on a group of pals in their 20s and 30s navigating their complicated yet silly lives in Manhattan. Along with Jennifer Anniston, Friends also starred Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.

As mentioned at the top, Jennifer Aniston nabbed her first major film role in the cult-classic film Leprechaun, with her casting in Friends coming shortly after. While she was a featured star on a few television shows, it wouldn’t be until the beloved sitcom that her career really took off, with the Horrible Bosses 2 star even turning down the chance to join the leading cast on Saturday Night Live on the notion that Friends would be a huge success. Of course, we all know how that turned out and we imagine that she wakes up every morning thankful that she took the role of Rachel Green.

Between celebrating Emmy and Golden Globe wins and becoming one of the most recognized faces in Hollywood, Jennifer Aniston’s start on Friends launched her to an unbelievable status that she still holds today. With a well-timed comedic presence, she’s gone on to star in a slew of comedies over the years with her return to feature-length productions in the aforementioned Murder Mystery 2, where she appears opposite Adam Sandler. And, while Friends followers may be upset to know that the odds of another reunion are very slim, they can still catch the actress in series form on Apple TV+’s drama The Morning Show which was renewed for a third season last year.
