Fan Video Shows Exactly What Happened to Ariana Grande Before Cynthia Erivo Saved Her From an Aggressive Fan

By Brian Hernandez 11/13/2025

Ariana Grande was recently involved in a pretty aggressive meeting with a fan, but Cynthia Erivo saved her this time around. In clips that have since been going viral, the singer-actress can be seen walking the yellow carpet with her Wicked co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo when a fan jumped in out of nowhere and lunged toward Grande.

In one particular clip shared by @lanagrandes on X, the aggressive fan ran toward the boy, who is the singer of mine, as she was trying to give away autographs to her fans while walking the carpet. He pulled her back with him before wrapping his arm around her and jumping excitedly. He was so quick that it even took the security a minute to collect themselves.

this is the worst thing to happen i can’t believe i saw ariana get harrassed in front of my own eyes… and she was about to reach me too 😞😞😞😞😞 pic.twitter.com/AEeph52us1

Thankfully enough, Erivo acted immediately, pulling Grande away from the fan and angrily pushing him away to protect her. Still, the Problems singer’s reaction was more than concerning as she looked shocked and scared with the frantic fans’ behavior, and fans have since been going wild with their outraged reactions to the same.

The Aggressive Fan Has Been Identified as Johnson Wen, & This Was Not His First Antic

While Cynthia Erivo looked mad and pissed at the aggressive fan who jumped the barrier and lunged toward Ariana Grande, fans were quick to find the offender. Turns out, the fan who pulled this feat off was an Instagrammer named Johnson Wen, whose handle on the said social media platform is by the name @pyjamamann.

In fact, he even posted a video of himself jumping onto the yellow carpet and running over to the Wicked cast members, with the caption reading (via Instagram),

@arianagrande @wickedmovie Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You ❤️

As concerning as that is, what’s even more bothersome is that this wasn’t his first time doing this. As it turns out, he has multiple clips posted to his Instagram account featuring him pulling similar stunts with other celebrities. The long list includes singers Katie Perry, The Weeknd, and The Chainsmokers, and Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.

Fans Aren’t Pleased With Johnson Wen Harassing Ariana Grande on the Yellow Carpet

Ever since fans witnessed the clips of the uninvited invader on the yellow carpet for Wicked, they have been going on nonstop with their rage aimed at Johnson Wen for harassing Ariana Grande so publicly.

Others, in the meantime, are waging war on the singer’s security, who couldn’t even act on time to protect Grande, while some others are also praising Cynthia Erivo for her quick action and the comfort she gave to her co-star afterward. All in all, on X, here’s what all these fans have to say:

He needs to be stopped, he’s a menace pic.twitter.com/ZwBIkym6YR

cynthia doesn’t play about ari cause why is she doing more work than the security team?!

security needs to hire Cynthia she was not playing at all 😭✌️ pic.twitter.com/MWpSBxbjzK

cynthia was so worried ☹️pic.twitter.com/2kHTJQEDwZ

Arrest this dude urgently pic.twitter.com/AOW8sHvAGs

Here’s another angle, Cynthia was so quick to jump inpic.twitter.com/X6lrZlDf9P

thank god cynthia was there because the PAID security were useless

The fact that the first thing she does afterwards is say "I'm okay I'm okay" and starts patting her hand and everything before even processing it herself….she shouldn't ever feel this way. Fans TRULY suck and deserve nothing if this is the kind of treatment they think is best.

Well, while Johnson Wen clearly saw it as a joking stunt, the other fans aren’t really happy about it at all. And, frankly, their concerns are valid as well, since no one should be allowed to harass anyone – let alone a celebrity – so publicly.
