Swift’s father has long been a polarizing figure among fans, facing skepticism even among Swifties, due to some of his old controversies. The Anti-Hero singer’s family supported her when she turned down a deal with the major label RCA in favor of signing with the much smaller Big Machine Records.

When Big Machine signed her daughter, Scott reportedly became an investor in the label. He owned 3% of the shares in the company, which grew to 5% when founder Scott Borchetta sold Big Machine to Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings. According to reports, Scott Swift made a sizeable $15.1 million from the deal.

Taylor Swift’s Dad’s Angry Rant in 18-Year-Old Controversial Emails

Taylor Swift’s dad, Scott Swift, came under fire from Swifties after his 18-year-old emails surfaced during a lawsuit. In the emails, Dad Swift made some scathing remarks about his family and his daughter’s career. The emails were attached to court documents submitted by Daniel Dymtrow, who filed a lawsuit against the Swifts.

Dymtrow was Swift’s former manager, who claimed that they owed him payment for his services during Swift’s early years. Dymtrow alleged that they paid him a mere $10,000 after he worked for them for two years and provided Swift with connections in the industry.

According to the emails obtained by The Mirror, Scott Swift was unhinged and shared his anger about not receiving enough credit for his efforts in propelling his daughter’s career. He expressed in the emails that he did not get the chance to go to places like New York with her, despite spending money on those trips.

He added that he was going to do everything in his capacity to advance Taylor Swift’s career. He also took a dig at Andrea Swift, hinting that she would divorce him in a jiffy over these claims. Scott Swift vented in the emails:

Who gets to go to New York, New England and every cool appearance? Not dad. Can’t fix hair. Dad talks too much. Who pays for trips to New York? Dad. I am going to do anything that I think is appropriate to do to advance Taylor’s career. Finally, if you want to get rid of me, please forward this to Andrea.

Scott Swift also told the former manager that no one was going to aid the Cruel Summer singer in becoming more successful than him. He also claimed in the emails that he was Swift’s biggest fan.
