Despite being the Emma Watson, she’s kept her life away from the spotlight since she became an adult, and since the Harry Potter movies ended. During her acting hiatus, we haven’t seen much of her, until now. In fact, not only did she made a super-rare appearance for the first time in nearly a year, but she went to an unexpected spot.
In case you missed it, on Feb 14, Watson arrived at the 2025 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in Oakland, Calif. In fact, the official ESPN TikTok page shared a video of Watson at the game, chatting with Tucker Halpern. In the adorable video, we see her excitedly blowing kisses and waving at someone off camera, showing such a sweet moment with the private star.
As we said, this is her first official outing in a year! (While she was photographed packing on the PDA with Kieran Brown, a PhD student, back in the summer of 2024, that was a paps moment.) The last official outing we saw Watson in was at the Prada Fall/Winter 2024 Womenswear Fashion Show on Feb 22, 2024.

After appearing in 2019’s Little Women, Watson did appear in a 2022 short called Prada Paradoxe for the brand Prada. However, besides that, Watson has focused on her education, rather than her acting; and she doesn’t regret the decision.
“I’m just so glad that I did,” she told British Vogue. “Because I have this feeling of having my own voice and creative space and sovereignty in some way that I don’t think I did before—more autonomy. I’m so glad that I allowed things to be messy for a minute and to really allow myself to not know [what’s next], because the knowing that I’ve come to, I wouldn’t trade that for anything.”
