Every year, as summer approaches, I lighten up my makeup. I don't have a heavy hand in the first place, so for me, that means tinted sunscreen, a light liquid blush, lip gloss, and a little black mascara (perhaps a waterproof formula since I'm a sweaty Betty). Not terribly adventurous, I know, but after seeing a selfie that Dua Lipa just shared, I'm thinking I may trade in that black mascara for something a little bolder.
Lipa is currently on a world tour, and she just wrapped up a couple of shows in Hamburg, Germany. To commemorate the experience, the singer posted a carousel of photos and videos to Instagram on Wednesday, May 21, featuring performance moments, fun outfits, fan tattoos, and—what really caught my eye—a couple of selfies in which she's wearing turquoise mascara.
She's wielding a vibrant wand in both close-ups, one of which kicks off the carousel, and her lashes are completely coated in a blue-green hue. Worn with otherwise fresh and dewy no-makeup makeup, the effect is so summery; the lashes and bare skin feel like a pool day in makeup form.
Lipa tagged YSL Beauty in her post—could it be a teal version of the Allure Best of Beauty Award-winning Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara? But there are several turquoise mascara options that I'll be looking into, like Half Magic Eyelectric Extreme Lengthening Mascara in Teal Widdit, Shiseido ControlledChaos MascaraInk in Emerald Energy, and the especially affordable ColourPop BFF Mascara in Swell Season.
