With the elections on the horizon, New York’s mayoral race between Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani, Republican Curtis Sliwa, and Independent Candidate Andrew Cuomo is garnering a lot of buzz. Several major celebrities are now chiming in to partake in the Primary elections, including Amy Schumer.
Although she didn’t outright reveal whom the comedian opted to vote for, Schumer’s IG story, whose caption read “Rhymes with Duomo”, did suggest that Schumer opted to vote for Cuomo.
Every Major Celebrity that Has Endorsed Zohran Mamdani
Schumer is far from the only celeb who has let their stance be known ahead of November’s General elections. Here’s a list of the major public figures who’ve opted to endorse Zohran Mandani in the mayoral race (via Deadline).
The aforementioned figures took to their socials to showcase support for Mamdani in the months leading up to the general elections. Considering how delicate the political climate has been, Mamdani’s unapologetically progressive campaign garnered substantial traction and has currently shaped him as the favorite among his peers.

Only time will tell how things will pan out, but Mamdani has maintained a strong lead in the polls and also succeeded in nabbing some major momentum from the recent debate.

In addition to Schumer, several other major names, including one controversial auteur, have opted to side with Cuomo ahead of the election. The list includes:
Unlike Schumer, however, the three of them have been pretty direct about their support for Cuomo. Bloomberg, a former Mayor himself, argued that Cuomo’s government and management have the experience to stand above the others.

Anthony took to his IG to advocate for Cuomo, while controversial filmmaker Woody Allen expressed that Mamdani lacks experience compared to Cuomo (via Honesty With Bari Weiss).
I’m gonna vote. I’m gonna vote for Cuomo. I think Cuomo will do a much better job. Cuomo will be much better for New York. He’ll be much more efficient and he’ll be much more, he’ll just do a better job. I think [Cuomo is] experienced and knows New York, and Mamdani is inexperienced,
While Eric Adams’ surprising exit from his re-election run surged Cuomo’s poll percentage from 23 percent to 33 percent, as Adams’ supporters jumped ship, Mamdani still leads the poll with 46 percent (via Ourtown). Curtis Sliwa, on the flip side, sits at 15 percent, essentially making it a two-way race between Cuomo and Mamdani. Given the current political climate, it’ll be interesting to see how this election unfolds.
