By Kevin Davis 10/28/2025

No, Kim Kardashian is not joining the Netflix hit Bridgerton. But the reality TV star is now set to work with the Bridgerton creator and the former showrunner, Chris Van Dusen, on her new show, Calabasas. Kardashian is set to executive-produce the show, as per Deadline.

And Van Dusen is taking on the role of the creator and showrunner of the series, which is based on Via Bleidner’s 2021 book If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now. He will also executive produce the series alongside Kim Kardashian, Emma Roberts, Karah Preiss, Matt Matruski, and Alexandra Milchan.

What is Kim Kardashian’s Calabasas About?

Netflix’s upcoming teen drama Calabasas takes viewers inside the glittering yet complex world of one of Los Angeles’ most exclusive suburbs. Based on Via Bleidner’s book If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now, the series follows 16-year-old Via, a sheltered Midwestern Catholic schoolgirl.

However, her life changes dramatically when her family relocates to Calabasas. Suddenly thrust into a new high school where nothing is as it appears, Via learns that dreams can come true, but not without complications and unexpected consequences.

The Netflix series is being developed by Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen, who is taking over as showrunner from Pretty Little Liars creator I. Marlene King stepped away from the project following a year of development. Calabasas does not have a release date yet.

The project marks another major step in Kardashian’s growing presence in scripted television, following her upcoming Hulu drama All’s Fair, co-starring Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Teyana Taylor, Sarah Paulson, and Glenn Close.

Bridgerton Showrunner Introduces Newcomers in Season 4

For Bridgerton Season 4, showrunner Jess Brownell is expanding the cast with two exciting newcomers: Rosamund Li and Posy Li, who are introduced as the debutante daughters of Lady Araminta Gun.

Talking about the two characters in a recent interview with Netflix, the Bridgerton showrunner described the two characters as the perfect debutantes. Showrunner Jess Brownell shared.

While Rosamund has become her mother’s mini-me — a marriage mart pro chess player — Posy is dreamy and often unserious, much to her mother’s disapproval.

The sisters, played by Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei, arrive amid the season’s main arc, that of Sophie Baek, this season’s lead heroine, who finds herself entwined in the glittering world of Mayfair as she crosses paths with Benedict Bridgerton.

She continued, “Araminta and Rosamund are so focused on their own goals that, frankly, the Bridgertons don’t register much for them at first,” adding that their focus is significantly on Benedict this season.

Will Rosamund and Posy shake up the Bridgerton social order? And how will Benedict handle the new attention coming his way this season?

Bridgerton Season 4 is set to release on Netflix on January 29, 2026.
