Chris Evans, 44, and Alba Baptista, 28, really left everyone surprised when reports surfaced that the two have just welcomed a new member into their family: Their first child, a daughter, whose name is reportedly Alma Grace. This was first reported by TMZ, and the baby girl is said to be taking both her mom’s and dad’s last name, i.e., Baptista Evans.
Yet, as much of a surprise as it may have been for fans, Alba’s father, Luiz Baptista, had actually left a hint for us all a long time ago, per reports from TMZ. This goes back to the summers, when a fan account posted a Father’s Day tribute, in which both the actor’s and the actress’ respective fathers were tagged. On the same, Luiz had reportedly left a sweet comment that said,
Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming! 🥰
Of course, it didn’t take long for rumors to swirl after that, with many eagle-eyed fans taking this as a hint for Alba Baptista’s father alluding to the lovebirds possibly becoming a family of three soon. And guess what? All those fan assumptions and speculations were right, after all!

Needless to say, it truly is one of the happiest moments for fans to know that Chris Evans has successfully started a family of his own with the love of his life. However, what’s upsetting fans is the fact that the news of their daughter’s being born wasn’t announced officially by the couple, but rather, was leaked by TMZ.
The reason why fans are so mad about it is because both Evans and his wife succeeded in hiding their pregnancy for nine months, never commenting on it or addressing it publicly – presumably because the couple wanted it to be a private, family moment for themselves, which they could celebrate with each other and their loved ones.
But now that reports about it have been leaked, that personal moment is obviously ruined. What has fans even more bothered is how TMZ even reported that the baby was born at 1:27 PM on Friday in Massachusetts, which is a bit too intimate a detail to have been gained access to so easily. Thus, it’s only inevitable that this is garnering tremendous anger from fans worldwide.

While the newest update in their love story has revealed the birth of their first child together, Chris Evans and Alba Baptista actually go a long way back. The two were first romantically linked three years ago, back in 2022, when Evans was said to have been dating Baptista, who is 16 years his junior, “for over a year” by that point (via PEOPLE).
A few hours after this news surfaced, the pair was spotted holding hands while trying to stay under the radar during their stroll through Central Park in New York City on November 10, clad in matching sunglasses and face masks (via Page Six).
Plus, a day before reports of their affair surfaced, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the Marvel star had left a flirty comment on the Portuguese actress’s Instagram post, which featured stills from her film A Dream In Paris in Portugal, which had just opened in the theatres at the time. His comment featured the clapping hands and melting face emojis.
