Brian Austin Green Reveals Why He Called Out Megan Fox’s Ex Machine Gun Kelly (Exclusive)

Brian Austin Green doesn't expect to be hearing back from Machine Gun Kelly anytime soon after recently telling him to stop trying to "drag other people."

While speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the Hollywood Virgin Los Angeles Magazine Book Launch Party on Wednesday, Feb. 5, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 51, spoke about posting a screenshot of Kelly, 34, calling out an article about his previous relationship with Megan Fox, 38.

Green wrote on Feb. 3 in a since-expired Instagram Stories post shared by TMZ: "Bro. Just be honest for once in your life. Stop caring so much about how you’re perceived that you will try and drag other people."

The Knots Landing star, who shares three children with his ex-wife Fox, has since told PEOPLE he hadn't heard from Kelly after the post, and said he wasn't expecting to.

"That's not something that I normally do, but it just really at the time, really got under my skin to read about his sort of take on it," Green tells PEOPLE at Wednesday's event, which was held at The Abbey in West Hollywood, Calif., in support of the relief efforts of the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation (LAFDF).

"So I spoke my mind, but then I've since come to terms with the fact that I won't do that anymore. I'm going to shut up and just sit back," Green insists.

PEOPLE reached out to Kelly's rep for comment on Green's post on Monday, Feb. 3.

Green was previously married to Fox from 2010 to 2020. The former couple share three children together: Noah Shannon, 12, Bodhi Ransom, 10 and Journey River, 8. Fox then moved on with Kelly and the two got engaged in December 2022. However, they endied their relationship in late November 2024, just weeks after announcing that they were expecting a baby together.

Green's latest comments about Kelly come after he first reacted to news of the rapper's split with Fox in December, a few days after it was reported that the pair had called it quits.

"I didn't even know. No. I had no idea," Green said at the time when asked about the breakup in a clip shared by TMZ.

After the reporter alleged that Kelly was unfaithful to his former fiancée, Green responded, "How old is he? Do you know? He's in his 30s. Nice … In your 30s, like — I don't know. Grow up. She's pregnant."

"I just want the best for her, I want the best for the baby, I want the best for our kids," Green insisted.

"That's a shame. That's a shame. I'm heartbroken about it because I know she's been so excited and the kids are so excited for life and the change and all of that," he added.

As for Fox, a source told PEOPLE last month that she and Kelly "tried to make things work for many years," adding, "It was exhausting for Megan."

Fox reportedly hasn't been speaking much to Kelly amid the end of their relationship.

"She's done with him now. She just wants to focus on the baby and her boys now. She lives alone and doesn't have much contact with MGK," the source continued. "She's doing okay. She's very excited about the baby."
