Sydney Sweeney is on the rise to becoming a household name today. Amidst everything going around her, including Euphoria and controversies, the star is seen talking about one of the dig-outs that happened earlier this year, the American Eagle ad.
In an interview with GQ, the actress was asked about how she felt at the moment, to which Sweeney replied,
I did a jean ad. The reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life.
Not just this, when asked about how she felt when POTUS Donald Trump backed her on that, she said,
It was surreal.
Notably, Sweeney has been working extra hours on the set of Euphoria; therefore, she was not bothered by the controversy. Regarding this, she said,
I’m filming Euphoria, so I’m working 16-hour days, and I don’t really bring my phone on set, so I work and then I go home and I go to sleep. So I didn’t really see a lot of it.
Though everything now appears to be nice and sweet, it seems like her co-star, Zendaya, might not promote the upcoming season of the highly anticipated show, Euphoria. Why?

Zendaya is seemingly stepping back to collaborate with Sweeney on Euphoria Season 3 promotions. As per the Daily Mail (published November 9, 2025), the now A-lister, Zendaya, is upset with Sweeney’s views and controversies. The actress has been declining press calls, too.
One such insider said,
It’s no wonder she’s refusing to do it. It’s a difficult position for Zendaya to be in because if she even stands next to Sydney on the red carpet, it can be read as her excusing her views on Trump and her refusal to apologise for the racist ad.
Zendaya has been quite vocal about her opposition to Trump, which adds fuel to the fire in the co-star’s rapport. However, take this entire fiasco with a pinch of salt, as nothing has been confirmed by either party yet.
