From fighting intergalactic wars in Star Wars to being the Egyptian god in Moon Knight, he held a prime position in Disney’s outings. However, following the recent clashes with the studio, the actor seems ready to try his luck in the DCU.
For those unversed, talking to GQ Isaac had stated,
I’d be open to it, although right now I’m not so open to working with Disney. If Disney did not succumb to fascism, that would be great.
As per the latest reports, the actor from Dune has joined the cast of The Batman Part 2. What makes this rumor intriguing is that it comes from one of the most renowned industry insiders, Jef Snierder. During his latest The Hot Mic podcast, Sneider stated that he had come across news that Matt Reeves wanted Isaac for a major role in The Batman. While he did not reveal the character, Sneider went on to add that a deal could not have worked out back then.
Next, sharing an update, the host also made it clear that it was only speculation, stating that he wouldn’t be surprised to see the Triple Frontier appear in the sequel to The Batman. In case you don’t know, The Batman Part 2 has been long-awaited by the fans. With Robert Pattinson in the lead, the director recently shared an update on the project.
Matt Reeves Updates on Batman 2 Filming Schedule
The Batman was released in 2022, well before the DC Universe officially began. Although 2021’s The Suicide Squad and 2022’s Peacemaker are considered canon to the James Gunn and Peter Safran-helmed DCU, the original timeline came into existence with Creature Commandos in 2024, marking a significant change that may have impacted the release of The Batman Part 2.
While the fans have been longing for the sequel to the blockbuster entry of a much serious Batman movie with an even darker tone, in September this year, Reeves finally shared the details of the Dark Knight’s next entry. During the red carpet of the Emmy Awards at L.A.’s Peacock Theater, the filmmaker said,
We’re getting ready. We’re basically entering prep. We’ll be making the movie in the spring
He went on to add,
Because of what the first movie was and what this movie is, which is so much a detective story, the idea of trying to protect the secrets of the movie is super important because it’s a mystery.
Reeves also shed light on Pattinson’s character, stating that the fans of his Batman should be ready for something new.
Meanwhile, when it comes to a villain, Reeves has also dropped hints, stating that the plot surrounding the antagonist in his next Caped Crusader movie has “never really been done in a movie before” (via ComicBookMovie).
Fans strongly believe that the villain being pointed to by Reeves will be played by Isaac.
