Taylor Swift and Jodie Turner-Smith were recently involved in a pretty awkward and private conversation, one that was reportedly quickly shut down. This happened during their recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, alongside celebrities Cillian Murphy, Greta Lee, Domhnall Gleeson, and Lewis Capaldi.
On the show, the conversation didn’t take long to shift to Swift, who recently got engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce. While the released clip didn’t feature it, a Swiftie, Sammie Nicole, who attended the live taping of the episode, alleged on TikTok that one quite uncomfortable moment during this conversation was cut off.
As per Nicole’s claims, when Norton talked to Swift about her upcoming wedding and the planning, British actress Turner-Smith suddenly enquired about the billionaire singer’s babies. She allegedly asked Swift,
And what about babies?
This question initially confused the 14-time Grammy winner, per TikToker’s claims. Apparently, she thought that Jodie Turner-Smith was asking her whether babies would be allowed on her wedding guest list. Responding to her question, the I Knew You Were Trouble singer is said to have said,
Oh, no under-18s are coming, just adults.
But, of course, that was not the end of the conversation. As Nicole revealed, the A Big Bold Beautiful Journey star didn’t stop with her question just there, as she proceeded to ask in a follow-up question to Swift,
No, no, I mean, are you going to have babies?
That question arguably feels private for Taylor Swift to answer and has reportedly been cut off from the final released taping of the episode, per the Swiftie TikToker. Not to mention, Turner-Smith is also being criticized for the same.
Graham Norton Allegedly Cut Off Jodie Turner-Smith’s Question to Taylor Swift

While the question in itself felt like one that would have suited better had it been asked behind the scenes, it turns out that it was none other than the show’s host Graham Norton himself who jumped to Taylor Swift’s rescue. If anything, he reportedly seemed to shut down the line of questioning quickly.
As Sammie Nicole continued to claim,
Graham was so on top of it. Instantly, he went, ‘That’s an off-camera conversation to have.’ And then they moved on. So that was a big one that got cut out.
Though the talk show host evidently steered the conversation away, that exchange was still omitted from the final version that aired on the screens. At the same time, it’s worth noting that all these details of the cut scenes come through a single member from the audience rather than a published clip of the taping, so that’s that too.
Fans Deem Jodie Turner-Smith’s Question “Insensitive”

Of course, Jodie Turner-Smith might not have put too much thought into asking Taylor Swift if she was going to have babies with Travis Kelce or not, and must have asked that question simply out of curiosity. However, fans feel it was out of line for her to have asked such a personal question in front of an audience and on camera.
As the TikToker Swiftie Sammie Nicole herself said in the You Belong With Me singer’s defense,
I was like, Girl? First of all, you don’t ask someone that, you should know better than to ask that. Especially on a television show, like she’s not going to answer that for you. I just felt really uncomfortable when she said that. A, she might not want kids; B, she might not be able to have kids; and C, even if she can and will, it’s none of your business. Don’t ask someone that.
That’s not all. Numerous other fans in the comments section of that TikTok post echoed similar thoughts as they disappointedly agreed that the question was “inappropriate” and “awkward to ask” the 35-year-old billionaire singer.
That said, for now, fans might as well just let Taylor Swift don the headlines with news of her engagement and marriage, and let the question about babies take the backseat until the dreamy couple at least ties the knot. Don’t you agree?
