A new deposition from Justin Baldoni has apparently revealed another side of Ryan Reynolds, according to YouTuber Popcorned Planet, aka Andy Signore. The deposition mentions a third person, whom Signore believes to be Stephanie Jones, who previously represented Dwayne Johnson through Jonesworks.
As per the newly revealed documents, the anonymous woman had stated on the call that “Mr. Reynolds had, like, terrorized The Rock or something to that extent. Something about a – something about a letter.“
It continued to add, “I don’t remember the details, but something about, like, he had written a letter and it was, like, they wouldn’t do press together.“
It’s well known that Johnson and Reynolds got in a bit of a feud when they starred in Red Notice together. Apparently, the actors had a “huge fight” over the wrestler-turned-actor’s repeated tardiness (via The Wrap). However, a representative for Amazon MGM Studios vouched for Johnson, stating,
Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on ‘Red One’ and we couldn’t have made it without Dwayne’s constant work and support. Any reporting that implies that we got to this point with him showing up 7-8 hours late to set is both ridiculous and false.
Seven Bucks produced both Red Notice and Red One.
Ryan Reynolds’ Behavior Left Justin Baldoni Emotionally Paralyzed

That’s not all, apparently, Ryan Reynolds had threatened Justin Baldoni and spoken to him as if the It Ends with Us director was a naughty five-year-old. In the court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Baldoni’s text messages described a tense and personal meeting that took place at Reynolds and Blake Lively’s NYC apartment.
The message (January 05, 2024) was sent to The Office actor Rainn Wilson, recalling what he went through the previous night, one day before filming was to resume after the Hollywood strikes came to an end. Baldoni texted Wilson,
Ryan was talking to me like a five-year-old and scolding me. They essentially said that Jamey [Heath] and I are not who we claimed to be and that for us to have a podcast is unsafe because it makes people feel like we are safe.
Baldoni added that Reynolds went on to read a list of allegations from his phone, many of which were based loosely on events yet “taken completely out of context.” Apparently, the Deadpool actor described Lively’s co-star as “creepy [and] abusive“, and he was given a written apology to read out loud. The text added,
It’s hard to feel so much of what they believe about me is false because they are so convinced that it’s real. I was emotionally paralyzed, which is something I haven’t experienced in years.
Baldoni felt that everything that had been happening was “so unjust,” and the only way out was to take Reynolds’ wrath upon himself and acknowledge the couple’s alleged feelings. He added that he prayed and prayed to God, only to be left feeling “abandoned” in the end.
Ryan Reynolds’ Behavior Is Not Surprising to Hollywood Insiders

As per insider Rob Shuter via his Substack, aka #ShuterScoop, the text messages have left critics buzzing, and it has nothing to do with Baldoni. Apparently, the “angry husband” tag fits Reynolds perfectly, as insiders claim that the actor has “two very different personas“.
As per Shuter, industry veterans have “heard stories like this before“, and Reynolds may not be the charming man we know him to be. A longtime studio insider stated,
People think Ryan is the funny, charming guy, from the commercials. But behind closed doors, he’s a lot more intense. He switches. It’s like there’s Hollywood Ryan, and then there’s the Ryan only insiders meet.
It seems that this other side of Reynolds comes forward when his wife, Lively, is concerned. He is apparently “fiercely protective” of the Gossip Girl alum, even to the point that he may sometimes create “a very different energy that the relaxed, jokey persona he’s famous for.”
So, if that’s the case, why has his image never been tainted before the Baldoni-Lively legal mess? Well, as per a talent manager, “He controls his image better than any A-lister. But the Baldoni situation isn’t shocking. People in this town have seen the other side.“
