Michael Jackson made several critical statements about Madonna, primarily documented in private tape recordings he made with spiritual advisor Rabbi Shmuley Boteach between 2000 and 2001. These 30 hours of recorded conversations were later compiled into the book The Michael Jackson Tapes: A Tragic Icon Reveals His Soul in Intimate Conversation, published in 2009.
In the 2009 book, Jackson revealed Madonna’s ideas for a date that did not sit well with him:
Madonna laid the law down to me before we went out. [She said] I am not going to Disneyland, OK? That’s out. I said, ‘I didn’t ask to go to Disneyland.’ She said, ‘We are going to the restaurant. And afterwards, we are going to a strip bar’.
The two briefly dated in the early 90s, but were constantly soured by jealousy and a clash of personal values.
Why did Michael Jackson Call Madonna a “nasty witch”?

MJ found Madonna’s proclivities too extreme for him, telling spiritual advisor Rabbi Shmuley Boteach (via Express):
I said, ‘I am not going to a strip bar, where they cross dress. … I am not [going there]. If that’s how it is, forget this whole thing. … Afterwards, she wrote some mean things about me in the press. And I wrote that she is a nasty witch, after I was so kind to her.
Michael Jackson got a peek into Madonna’s collection of sadomasochistic books. In the recordings with the Rabbi, he added:
You know, at the time I was with Madonna, she was into books, all over, a whole collection—like a library of books of women who were tied to walls, different things. She said, ‘I love spanky books’. Why would I want to see that? I think she likes shock value.
The two had a tumultuous relationship that did not last long, as MJ believed that Madonna was jealous of his fame.

In a VH1 interview, the Material Girl singer detailed how their famous 63rd Academy Awards date wearing matching whites came to be (via SCMP):
Michael was like, ‘Well, who are you going to go with? I looked at him and said, ‘I don’t know. You want to go?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, that’d be great.’
MJ and Madonna would remain friends and almost collaborated on a song. Their relationship soon became hot news, tuning everybody in to a messy relationship between the King and Queen of Pop.
Despite everything, Madonna praised the singer after his passing, calling him the “King”. MJ and Madonna’s relationship is an example of how fame and jealousy go hand in hand.
