Joe Rogan responded to Ronda Rousey‘s dig at him recently, when she shared that he was not a real expert because he didn’t fight in the UFC. During his conversation with Jeff Dye, he shared that her comments “bothered” him. However, he appears to have forgiven her as he had nothing but great things to say about her.
Rogan shared that it was Rousey who made the female divisions possible after Dana White previously never wanted women in the sport. He shared, “It took someone who was that dynamic, that special, for [Dana White] to go ‘You know what? This lady’s a star’.”
Rogan shared that she was a “champion-minded person”, adding, “She’s like, ‘You’re f**king with me or against me. It’s me against the world.’” He shared about the former champion:
She doesn’t have a chip on her shoulder, she’s got a forest — she’s got a whole forest on her shoulder. That’s why she was so good. And we’re lucky she was a woman, if that lady was a man, she would be f**king Genghis Khan. She would take over the world. She’s an animal.
Rogan also went on to highlight one of the greatest achievements in Rousey’s career. He brought up her match with Cat Zingano, sharing, “Zingano was a f**king animal. Ronda catches her in an armbar in like 13 seconds. I don’t remember the exact time. It was nuts.” Rogan shared that Rousey demonstrated perfect technique during that match.
Ronda Rousey Took a Dig at Joe Rogan During Recent Podcast Appearance

Ronda Rousey makes it clear that she is not very fond of Joe Rogan. She appeared on the Bertcast Podcast with Bert Kreischer and took a dig at the UFC commentator during their interaction. When asked about her return to UFC, Rousey responded that she would be able to take on Kreischer right then in his backyard.
She jokingly told Kreischer, “I will beat the s–t out of you in your backyard for this house. Let’s go… Right now. Now or never.” Kreischer went along with Rousey’s joke and told her that he would need to reach out to his friend Joe Rogan for some fighting tips. However, Rousey quipped, “He wouldn’t know. He’s not an expert, he’s a fan with an audience.”
Kreischer tried to defend Rogan by pointing out his experience in Taekwondo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. However, Rousey simply dismissed them, sharing, “He never fought. That’s not fighting.” While Rogan never fought in a UFC match, he has proved over the years that he was more than capable of taking on any good fighter in the octagon.
Rousey might have a beef with the UFC commentator, stemming from how she was treated towards the end of her UFC career. Rousey’s career ended when she lost to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. She claimed that Rogan and others quickly turned on her. She shared with Chris Cuomo:
It was really disappointing to see how happily everybody turned on me and how people like Joe Rogan, who were crying in the ring about the honor of being able to call my fights, people I considered friends in the media, so quickly turned on me.
Rousey also has a rocky relationship with WWE after her departure. She is currently training in mixed martial arts again, but she will probably not return to the ring for a match.
Valentina Shevchenko Defends Joe Rogan After Ronda Rousey’s Comments

Valentina Shevchenko, who is all set to appear against Zhang Weili at UFC 322, came to Joe Rogan’s defense after Ronda Rousey’s comments. She wrote on X that she saw him as a huge expert of Martial experts. She also shared that Rogan was a noble man and a good example for the youth.
I see Joe Rogan as huge expert of Martial Arts, noble man, hunter, sportsman, and good example for youth! https://t.co/12C44V5uGL
During her press meet on Wednesday, she once again reiterated her sentiments. She shared that while she liked Rousey, she was not in the right to say those things about Rogan. She once again shared how Rogan was knowledgeable and successful and how he was an example. She shared (via MMA Fighting):
I’m for justice and I like Ronda, I like her lifestyle, being close to nature and animals and farm and anything like that, she’s a great champion, but I feel in this particular case it was not right to say these things that she said.
Joe Rogan, he is a true example for the youth. He is a true martial artist. He has a lot of knowledge in martial arts and he’s a successful man. He’s very talented and it’s just not right to say those things. I felt when there is no justice, no, it’s something wrong.
When asked about who is the female GOAT in the sport, she shared that it was a tough question to answer. While she believed that Rousey deserved the greatest fighter, she pointed out that she came into the sport a long time ago with no external support. She shared:
So for me, it’s a very hard question who is the greatest and I never will [say] myself because I’m not that kind of person who puts the name in front of everyone. I feel everyone did enough things to secure the spot to be in this position, the greatest fighter ever.
Fans look forward to see how Rousey will react to Joe Rogan’s praise for her after her comments. They hope that the two of them can put this thing behind them.
