“Hollywood hides these men”: Avengers: Doomsday May Ditch Jeremy Renner After Vile Accusations by Chinese Director

By John Davis 11/07/2025

Jeremy Renner has become a subject of gossip in Hollywood again. It’s just that this time, people are not talking about his movies or singing talents. Instead, the actor has been called out by his filmmaking partner over “unsolicited” behaviour.

The latest report suggests that Yi Zhou, with whom Renner was working on the documentary Chronicles of Disney and the AI-animated feature Stardust Future, took to social media to share her distressed emotions (via San Francisco Chronicle).

In June 2025, out of the blue, I received 2 photos of Jeremy Renner and then a string of unwanted / unsolicited p**ographic images of himself via DM and Whatspp, that was his introduction to me.

In her Instagram post, the director also added, “Hollywood hides these men and bad behavior for the sake of money.”

Per The Daily Mail, the Chinese filmmaker said that she was dating the Arrival actor. She, however, later claimed that the actor denied their relationship while also refusing to publicly promote their outings together, as per the San Francisco Chronicle.

Will Marvel Studios Include Jeremy Renner in Avengers: Doomsday?

Marvel Studios is known for its strict policy to sever its terms with any cast member or crew if they are involved in serious allegations. Looking at the new development around the Hawkeye actor’s image, we may see a major decision coming his way from Marvel Studios. Even though he was not announced to join the grand cast of Avengers: Doomsday, fans were hoping to see him in the next cast announcement.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that this is not the first time Renner has been accused of such a serious allegation.

In the past, his former wife, Sonni Pacheco, accused him of dangerous behavior. Her allegations included dangerous usage of drugs and alcohol, threats to kill her as well as himself, and also firing a gun with their daughter present in the house, as per TMZ.

Following this, the Marvel star had an explosive divorce with the Canadian model. However, in an interview with The Guardian, Renner expressed of “being accused of things you’ve not done.” The actor from Wind River called the allegations “clickbait, and it hurts my feelings and it dehumanizes people,” also adding,

They happen all the time. It’s all the salaciousness that happens out there.

Renner and Pacheco welcomed their angel daughter, Ava, in 2013, after which they tied the knot in 2014. That same year, the model filed for divorce, now sharing the custody of Ava with Renner.

Previous Names Marvel Studios Sacked Contracts With

When we recall actors with great potential in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who were not seen later, the first two names are obviously Edward Norton and Jonathan Majors. The latter, seen as Kang the Conqueror, set foot on a new journey, so brilliant that almost every Marvel fan was eager to see him as the next big bad of the MCU.

Having an even stronger storyline on screen than Josh Brolin’s Thanos, the character Majors played was meaner. However, his good luck soon turned grey as ash when he was accused of domestic violence. Later, he became a convict of a misdemeanor assault charge and a harassment violation, following the charges his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, put against him.

His great trajectory saw a swift downfall. Another big name with whom Marvel Studios cut ties was James Gunn.  Back in 2018, Disney had removed Gunn as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The case was a shock to everyone, but it had a depth to it.

The production house made its decision after several of Gunn’s controversial social media posts had resurfaced online. However, with Gunn apologizing, the cast threatening to quit, and DCEU’s move to make him the director of The Suicide Squad, the MCU bosses rehired him.

Here’s a quick table of the actors who we did not see in the MCU later.
