Back in 2018, iconic actor Christian Bale portrayed the role of Vice President Dick Cheney in the comedy/drama film, Vice. According to Esquire, Christian Bale gained a total of 40 lbs (~18 kilograms) for the role of Dick Cheney.
Surprisingly enough, Bale later realized that prosthetics and makeup had come too far along and that he did not need to gain 40 lbs like a madman. According to another report on The Week, Bale achieved the feat by reportedly eating a lot of pies.
Directed by Adam McKay and starring Christian Bale in the lead role alongside Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, and more, Vice received mixed reviews with an overall positive tone from critics and fans alike.
The film’s premise follows Dick Cheney overcoming several challenges in life and becoming a powerful bureaucrat in Washington. His position as vice president to George Bush allows him to reshape the world and to lead the “war on terror”.

The former Vice President is survived by his two daughters and his seven grandchildren. Rest in Peace, Mr. Cheney.
