Millie Bobby Brown stirred up several challenges for the creators of Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things, Matt and Ross Duffer. The creators reflected on an 11-year-old Brown’s on-set antics on the show’s early days in a 2016 interview with NPR.
Talking about how great of an actress she is, the Duffer Brothers emphasized, “She’s still 11,” before recalling one particularly memorable incident that delayed filming by “45 minutes in the morning”. They recalled,
One day she showed up on set and she’s just covered head to toe in glitter. And she’s like I don’t know where this glitter came from.
“And it’s like I’m not having this problem with any of my adult actors covered in glitter,” they further shared. Duffer Brothers revealed that removing the glitter caused a significant delay in production. Still, they acknowledged that Brown was just a kid at the time, a remarkably gifted one, but a kid nonetheless.
Millie Bobby Brown Shared Her Fear of Returning to Stranger Things
Millie Bobby Brown recently opened up about a surprising fear she faced while preparing to return to Stranger Things for its fifth and final season.
After filming Enola Holmes 2 in 2022, in which she frequently breaks the fourth wall and speaks directly to the camera, Brown revealed she developed a “deep-rooted fear” of not being able to stop looking into the lens while acting.

The Stranger Things star compared the experience to “vlogging on YouTube all day long,” admitting it made her anxious about stepping back into her iconic role as Eleven. She shared, as per People,
While filming, I had a dream that I was on the set of Stranger Things, and I couldn’t stop looking at the camera — And now, I have this deep-rooted fear that now I will never stop looking at the camera. So now, I’m so obsessed with it.
Despite that, Brown is set to reprise her role in the highly anticipated final chapter of the Netflix phenomenon, promising fans one last emotional and thrilling journey with the beloved Hawkins crew.
Stranger Things Season 5 Part 1 is set to premiere on Netflix on November 26, 2025.
