After four successful seasons, Mayor of Eastown has grabbed every eye with anticipation for a fifth entry. Jeremy Renner, who is now recovered from a near-fatal injury, has been hinting at his future on the TV screen as well as in the movies.
Portraying Mike McLusky, a foul-mouthed mayor of Kingstown, the Hurt Locker star received massive appreciation from his die-hard fans. So much so that Rotten Tomatoes gave the crime drama a rating that will push it further into new seasons. Interestingly, Renner has been hinting at a fifth and final season as well. Let’s get to know if Mayor of Kingstown is in for a new season after a globally admired fourth outing.
Mayor of Kingstown Cast Hints at a New Season

For those who are hoping for Mayor of Kingston Season 5, you are in luck, as it looks like Mike McLusky is going to hunt down bad guys for another year. Renner, who serves as the lead and producer of the series in question, had recently spilled out a few details that have thrilled everyone.
Making an appearance during the Florida Supercon, the actor from Wind River first expressed his elevated emotions to be back on set after the 2023 snowplow accident. “It was great to get back, and it creates a lot of jobs, and it’s good for me,” Renner said, following an almost life-threatening event. “That was encouraging for my mental health. I’m glad I’m back.”
Talking about the future of Mayor of Kingstown Season 5, back in August this year, Renner mentioned,
“We just finished since the incident, and I think I’m signing it off to finish it off in two more. We found a cool end, I’m not going to tell you, but we found a really cool end, I think, to the show.”
Interestingly, it was not only Renner who had hinted at the fifth outing of the Pramount+ project. Mayor of Kingstown, creator Hugh Dillon, surprisingly mentioned that the brains behind the series, Taylor Sheridan, has plans for four more seasons (via ScreenRant).
“When we first mapped it out, he’s the king at knowing where it ends. I like intros, and I like explosive intros. And he has an ending for it in Season 7.”
For those unversed, Dillon also stars in Mayor of Kingstown as Ian Ferguson, senior detective for the Kingstown Police Department in the series from Yellowstone helmer.
What Does the End of Mayor of Kingstown Mean for Jeremy Renner?

While we might be blessed with one more season of Mayor of Kingstown, Renner is already exploring plans for his future. First off, the actor will be seen alongside a mighty ensemble in the latest Knives Out entry, Wake Up Dead Man.
The Town actor will be seen alongside Daniel Craig, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Mila Kunis, Thomas Haden Church, Josh Brolin, and others in the aforementioned Netflix outing.
Next in his list is an AI-animated feature, Stardust Future: Stars and Scars, per Variety. In this project, Renner is set to narrate the first-of-its-kind feature-length film. The outing is set for a November theatrical release.
And how can he not wear his black and purple suit alongside Earth’s mightiest heroes? Yes, the Hawkeye actor also expressed interest in fighting aliens, or this time, let’s say, multiversal supervillains. “I’m always happy to be in that world, man,” the Captain America: Civil War actor stated to Empire in an interview. During his July talk with the outlet, Renner also hinted at Hawkeye Season 2.
“I’m sure we’ll end up doing Season 2, and do other things. And I’m happy to do it. My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.”
As we have already crossed our fingers hoping to watch Renner in action not only in Mayor of Kingstown but also in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, be prepared for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.
