Fans get another glimpse into the Spider-Man: Brand New Day set, with more clues as to who Sadie Sink is playing (via @UnBoxPHD / YouTube). After seeing her costume, or at least a small portion of it, fans are convinced that she is playing a crucial character from Marvel’s Punisher comics. It makes sense given that Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, is a part of this street-level Spider-Man movie.
Several fans have shared that Sink might be playing Rachel Cole, a sidekick to the Punisher from the comics. Earlier, many speculated that she would be romancing Tom Holland in the role of Gwen Stacy. However, this character appears to be more of a badass action hero rather than a romantic interest.
Fans were immediately drawn to the military cargo pants and boots that Sink was wearing in the set photos. She hid a major part of her costume with a large coat, but the bottom half of the costume gave away clues to fans regarding her character. In the comics, the character of Rachel Cole has a military background, hence the costume.

Cole appears as a sidekick to the Punisher, making fans more interested in the new potential dynamic between Sink and Bernthal. On Reddit, several fans brought up the character of Rachel Cole as soon as they saw the costume. One commenter said, “Camo pants and combat boots. Rachel Cole would be my guess.” Not all fans were happy, as one shared, “The last thing Punisher needs is a sidekick that isn’t Micro.”
Who Is Sadie Sink’s Alleged Character Rachel Cole in Marvel Comics?

Rachel Cole-Alves was first introduced in The Punisher series by Greg Rucka and Marco Checchetto in 2011. She was a Marine sergeant who served multiple tours in Afghanistan and earned a Silver Star. She fell in love with Daniel Alves, a trauma surgeon, and got married to him in New York.
However, their wedding reception turned into a tragic event after two criminal gangs, the minions of the Owls and the syndicate called Exchange, crashed their reception. The Exchange opened fire on the reception to eliminate their targets from the Owls. Everyone except Rachel gets killed at the reception.
When she recovers from her injuries after months, she seeks revenge and goes after the Exchange. She then confronts the Punisher, who was also after the criminal syndicate. They begin to work together and eliminate several of their common enemies. During this time, they also encounter Spider-Man and Daredevil.
The MCU and SSU are yet to introduce the Exchange into the storyline. However, one of the previous set photos gave us a glimpse of the Inner Demons tank, allegedly confirming the presence of Mr. Negative and his gang. It could be possible that the Inner Demons might be the gang behind Rachel Cole’s tragic story in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
