Kim Kardashian has officially taken the California Bar Exam, but whether she’s passed it or not remains the million-dollar question. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, who has turned to criminal justice advocacy, took the exam in July 2025, and the results are expected to be released on November 7 (via Above The Law).
So, we’ll soon know how her six-year-long journey culminates by next month. But the most interesting part is that Kim K never attended a traditional law school; instead, she opted for a legal apprenticeship program.
Despite several setbacks, including three failed attempts at the baby bar, Kardashian let the world know in 2021 that she finally cleared it. The California Bar is known for being one of the toughest in the country, so we’re all waiting to see if she’ll finally gain her lawyer status.
And to add to the twist, she’ll also be playing a lawyer in a new legal drama called All’s Fair. So, let’s look at why exactly Kardashian studied law in the first place and how it’s going to help her on the upcoming show.
Why Did Kim Kardashian Pursue Law Despite Her Billionaire Status?

Most people would seek a life of leisure and luxury if they amassed a billion-dollar empire, but not Kim Kardashian. Building on her reality TV image and her brand, SKIMS, she reached billionaire status at the age of 40.
However, her decision to pursue a career in law is deeply personal, rooted in both her family legacy and a passion for social justice. Her late father, Robert Kardashian, was a renowned attorney, and on The David Rubenstein Show, this is what she said about him:
I saw how hard [my father] worked, and I saw just his work ethic. That really drove me, and especially his law studies, I think, really inspired me.
Kardashian also stated how she had a passion for criminal justice reform, but another underlying reason was her motherly instinct to protect her kids:
Not wanting my children to have to grow up with a lot of the stories that I hear from the people that I help, and just wanting my kids to live in a better world.
Though she has been subject to a lot of public scrutiny in the past, her legal ambitions aren’t about validation. It’s refreshing to see a celebrity use their platform for systemic change. Plus, it looks like Kardashian is making use of her law experience in more than one way!
How Kim Kardashian’s Law Experience Will Help Her in All’s Fair

With All’s Fair, Kim Kardashian will merge her real-life passion for law with her on-screen career. And honestly, at this point in her life, it’s the most fitting role she could have chosen. Here’s an overview of the show:
So, alongside Kardashian, we’ll see Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, and Teyana Taylor, who’s coming off of her critically acclaimed performance in One Battle After Another. The reality TV star’s character is Allura Grant, and this is her most ambitious acting project yet.
Kardashian’s legal studies could actually give her an edge in the role, because now she understands the profession’s jargon, making her dialogue delivery more effective. So, she could bring a level of authenticity to the character that would be difficult for others to match.
So, will you be tuning in to watch Kim Kardashian in All’s Fair?
All’s Fair will premiere on Hulu on November 4, 2025 (USA).
