By John Brown 11/19/2025

Alan Ritchson has had us impressed with his bulky looks and spearheading skills in the action-packed series, Reacher. While we miss Reacher after the conclusion of Season 3, here are his other most loved entries that you can enjoy binging on.

The actor stepped into the limelight even before his stint in Smallville. He was a runway model at first. Later on, the actor caught everyone’s attention by appearing on American Idol in its season 3. After this stint, Ritchson appeared as a guest star in the television series Smallville. This was where he played Arthur Curry, who is also known as Aquaman.

Since then, he has been continually gaining prominence on screen, eventually landing a role alongside Henry Cavill in the Guy Ritchie movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Let’s take a look at his most appreciated roles besides the Amazon Prime Video series.

10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

We have all already enjoyed the cartoon as well as the live-action series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But when Michael Bay took the business into his hands in 2014, things became serious. This was not only the biggest budget TMNT movie but also had a grand ensemble with a sequel.

The movie starred Megan Fox in the leading role, and Alan Ritchson gave his voice to one of the Turtle brothers, Raphael. Those who have been closely following the TMNT franchise since its early days might know that Raph plays a very important role in the team. This position was ensured by Ritchson, being distinct in the movie with his voice-over skills.

9. Blood Drive

Blood Drive was not a movie but a TV show. It showcased a post-apocalyptic world and focused on Ritchson’s character from Los Angeles. Interestingly, only a few know that Blood Drive was actually a parody entry to the ever-loved Mad Max franchise.

In this series, Alan Ritchson played the character of a cop named Arthur Bailey. He is shown to be the last good cop in the crime-infested city of Los Angeles. However, things go south as Ritchson’s Bailey goes missing, and now his friend and partner, Chris, played by Thomas Dominique, has to investigate the issue.

8. Blue Mountain State

Blue Mountain State is another series widely appreciated by Ritchson’s fans. The series put a great end to the franchise with the 2016 film Blue Mountain State: The Rise of Thadland

The show ran from 2010 to 2011. In this series, Ritchson plays the character of Thad, who is filled with pure energy and is wild enough to carry the show alone. This entry of Ritchson proves to be a strong one for all those fans of the actor who want to see him projecting power.

7. Fast X

Over the years, the Fast and Furious franchise has attracted many names and has only gotten bigger. The 2023 entry was one of those with a stronger and grander ensemble. Ritchson portrayed his skills alongside Jason Momoa, Charlize Theron, Vin Diesel, and other big names.

The movie highlighted his character, revealing him to be an antagonist.  This part by the actor went on to be one of the most applauded parts he ever played on screen. What is more important to notice is that even though he was surrounded by some big names not only from the Hollywood film industry but also from the world of wrestling, like John Cena, Ritchson did not just fade somewhere in the background but held a strong place in the centre of the plot.

6. Above the Shadows

Talking about his movies brings us to Above the Shadows. Considered as one of Alan Ritchson’s best movies. The film not only went on to become a fan favorite but also saw a great delivery by Ritson. This was another outing he did with the actress from Transformers, Megan Fox.

What intrigues every Ritchson fan is that Above The Shadows was a supernatural romance outing. In the film, Ritchson was seen playing the character of Shayne Blackwell, who is an MMA fighter. Talking more about the film would spoil the movie for you, so we will end it right here.

5. Ordinary Angels

If you loved Reacher, you will definitely like Ordinary Angels. This is where the actor was seen again in his buffed-up physique, and has a great action presence. What makes this entry a bit different from Reacher is that here you will come across his comic self as well.

While some feel that Ritchson’s character in Ordinary Angels has been dragged for too long, the storyline covers that up. Ordinary Angels was released back in 2024 and stars Alan Ritchson alongside Hillary Swank. The genre of the movie is drama and is directed by Jon Gunn.

4. Smallville

If you are a superhero fanatic, especially a fan of Detective Comics, you will instantly recognize Smallville. It was a series focused on Clark Kent, aka Superman. As the series moved further, other names from the world of DC dropped by soon.

One of them was played by Ritchson. In the aforementioned TV series, Ritchson was seen playing the character of Arthur Curry, the Aquaman. Although he was very young back then and was not as bulky as he is today, Alan Ritchson went well along with the series and the character he was portraying on screen. He was first seen in the role of Arthur Curry in Season 5 of Smallville. Later on, he made an appearance several times.

His appearance in Smallville may have been one too early, but many still appreciate his stint in the show.

3. Titans

Titans is another outing where Alan Ritchson portrayed his skills in a world of superheroes. Titans was a TV show that ran from 2018 to 2023. This was a story that spoke boldly about Teen Titans. Within the team of superheroes, Alan Ritchson went on to take a central stage, even with his side character.

He was seen as Hank Hall in the series, a character who is also known as Hawk. Talking about the character, he is associated with the duo Hawk and Dove. If you are intrigued, the character of Dove was beautifully portrayed by Minka Kelly. Now, coming to his portrayal, Ritchson’s Hawk was a pure force of brutalism.

He was violent and impulsive, a character that was made for an actor like Alan Ritchson. If you are unaware, Titans is one of the highest-ranking TV shows of Alan Ritchson.

2. Black Mirror

An anthology series, Black Mirror, brings out new actors in each of its episodes. The series that has carved out the fear of technology in this constantly evolving world has also starred names such as Hayley Atwell, Cristin Milioti, Jesse Plemons, Julia Davis, and others. And to stand tall among the big names from the Hollywood film industry is a tough task.

Still, Alan Ritchson carried out the job prominently in the third season of Black Mirror. One can catch him in the episode Nosedive, an entry of Black Mirror that talks about a society being totally dependent on an app. He was seen playing the character of Paul, who is not a sheep amongst the herd.

He tries to convince his fiancée to invite a female friend despite her being on a low social score. What the episode eventually turns into is a mind-blowing story.

1. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

The last and the top entry for which Alan Ritchson is appreciated. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is a movie directed by Guy Ritchie, who is also hailed for films like 2008’s Rock N Rolla, Sherlock Holmes, which starred Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, as well as numerous other highly acclaimed entries.

The story, inspired by the real-life Operation Postmaster that occurred during World War II, stars Ritchson in the role of Anders Lassen. He was seen alongside a grand cast, which includes Henry Cavill, Til Schweiger, Alex Pettyfer, Eiza Gonzalez, and others.
